TigerMask's Ramblings (10/29/16) I Need Some Advice.

Over the last month or so I have been thinking more and more about my job.
I enjoy the place I work at. I enjoy the people I work with. Hell I enjoy my managers.
As days turn to weeks and weeks turn to months I have realized I am miserable as a cook.
I mean I don’t mind cooking from time to time, but week after week after week….
I have noticed no matter what shift I work as a cook I come in and I am dragging all day long. Yet when I do get that odd chance of working on the dish pit my demeanor is different. I am happy. If I open I come in with so much energy, I'm more livelier, I look forward to coming in.
Now the hard part for me is talking to my kitchen manager and or my department manager about this for a few reasons:
1. We have a new store opening up in December and one of the managers is going over there to be the department/kitchen manager and he is taking our morning cook, one of our mid cooks/packers and another guy who can cook. So in December we will be down three cooks.
2. The holidays are coming. Thanksgiving should not be a problem since the new store won’t be open yet but then there is Christmas and by then we will be down three cooks.
3. This one is the important one, at least for me any ways. I feel if I say something now I will be letting my kitchen manager and department manager down since they took a chance on me and making me a cook all most a year ago now.
I really don’t know if I am just burnt out or I feel like I’m cutting it as a cook and I really don’t know if I should say something to them now or tough through it and tell them after the holidays.
