Halloween Birthdays

Do you know anyone who has a birthday on Halloween? Research from Yale School of Public Health suggested that the dark associations of Halloween put many women off giving birth on this day and that this state of mind can affect hormones and thus influence the timing of a birth. Research has looked at births taking place a week before and a week after Halloween and Valentine’s Day (the latter being deemed to have positive associations.) It was found that whereas births increased on Valentine’s Day compared to the surrounding weeks, the reverse occurred at Halloween. Here's a link if you want to read more about the study: According to legend, those born on Halloween possess supernatural powers and are able to communicate with the dead. Of course, this would not necessarily have to be a negative thing. One person who was sinister enough without having a Halloween birthday was Jimmy Savile, disgraced TV personality and one of Britain’s most prolific sex offenders. Savile was born on 31st October 1926 and was a 7th son. It has been suggested that he was part of a satanic ring and was some kind of Illuminati wizard. (He certainly had a fascination with mortuaries over the years). Some suggest he played a part in the Yorkshire Ripper murders. He was certainly a good friend of the Ripper himself. Maybe we’ll never know the full truth. It's all very chilling, particularly for those of us who grew up watching him on TV.
Halloween's associations with death, evil and skeletons may subconsciously put women off giving birth, claim scientists

My daughter was born on the 26th, just about a week before Halloween. I've always called her my little pumpkin princess!

@5thHouse I guess, if you say so! I don't even know what signs go with what birth months!

That's cute! Your daughter is a scorpio then, like my eldest.

It's interesting isn't it? There is so much stuff out there that we will never know. I sometimes feel eaten up with curiosity about some things.

Savile seemed to have a lot of authority at Broadmoor Secure Hospital where Sutcliffe was an inmate. They had a curious friendship. It's been suggested that Savile was in some way connected to the ripper murders (one of the victims was found very close to his home in Leeds) and that his presence at Broadmoor was to make sure Sutcliffe kept quiet. I think there was talk recently about moving Sutcliffe to another prison because he is apparently no longer 'mad.' I wouldn't be surprised if some revelations come out eventually.

Not true for me because it's just a day and halloween was probably invented. I bet Nov. 1 didn't matter in the ancient times.

Honestly I don't believe any of that. Halloween is not an evil day, never was. It was turned into that by the media. All about making money. And some people, crazy ones to be exact, take advantage of a day like this.

Wow! I didn't know that there are less births on Halloween, more on Valentine's. I do know someone born on Halloween actually, and someone born on Christmas. I think it would be great to have a supernatural gift, but on the other hand as I don't have one - maybe it's really difficult, too?
