TV in the bedroom not always a good idea

We have our TV in our bedroom. It is the one that is hooked up to the computer. We watch everything online. For the most part I don't mind it but it is nights like tonight that I am not feeling well and I just want to go to bed. I didn't sleep much last night. We both have to be up at 6am to get ready for work and my fiance decides at 11:15 that he wants to start watching a movie online. So here I am with all the lights on and the movie going. A movie i dont even want tp watch. My head is aching and I just want to sleep. It is times like this I wish the TV and computer weren't in the bedroom. It looks like another restless night.

If is calming that is good but when it is a nice action movie with lots of noise it's frustrating for me.

I have always had the TV in the bedroom because I did not want the TV to interfere in a conversation. Yet I hated my husband´s love for zapping that meant not really wayching anything. MY husband went to sleep early usually so I did not have your problems.

@Happy2BeMe I had problems with my husband when there was a good soccer play. But I accepted that. Soccer was his pasion.

Usually we go to bed at the same time so it usually isn't a problem.

I don't have a tv in my bedroom, but I do have my smartphone in hand. I fall asleep faster watching something, lol.

That is so inconsiderate of him, do you only have one television in the house or a laptop? Because it never hurts to tell someone how you are feeling and let them do their watching in the next room. Since it's online, maybe your fiance can use a laptop or use the living room television or something. Anyway, I hope you have a good night's rest in the next nights to come.

We don't have a laptop. Our desktop is hooked to the big screen in our bedroom. I told him but he's not tired so he doesn't want to go to bed.

@Happy2BeMe Well, there would always be advantages and disadvantages in having a television in the bedroom. I think it would be better to focus on the positives and if the time comes where the negatives are more than the positives, relocate the television to the living room or something. Hehe

I sleep alone and have a TV in the bedroom. The TV with the sound low actually relaxes and helps me get to sleep.

I could handle a low TV but an action movie blaring is not fun

Can't you turn the lights off and have him use headphones if he wants to watch the movie late like that?

No, not a good idea to have the TV in the bedroom. I would have thought your fiance would have had more respect than having all the lights on and the TV.

We followed the order of our doctor, no TV and no computers where we sleep. It's very bad for our health.

I have a tv in my bedroom too. But I hardly watch it in bed. I almost had a sleepless night a few nights ago. But it wasn't because of the tv, it's because I was hot.

Fro someone who does not feel well, the light emitted by TV and computer is too disturbing so better to turn them off.

We have a computer in the bedroom but not a television. We had a small one a long time ago and neither of us cared for it. So we got rid of it. Hope you were able to eventually able to get some rest. Have a blessed day

It usually works pretty well because we normally go to bed at the same time as each other.
