Written by Geoff Stephens, “The Crying Game” was a hit for Dave Berry in 1964. Filmmaker Neil Jordan used the title for his acclaimed Best Picture Academy Award nominated movie about an Irishman falling in love with someone with a special secret. Boy George came in to do a cover produced by the Pet Shop Boys and the song went to Billboard Hot 100 #15. “The Crying Game” was a post Culture Club comeback for Boy George.
“I know all there is to know about the crying game
I’ve had my share of the lying game”
“The Crying Game” is a haunting song of heartbreak and being left behind. Boy George sings it well with sorrow and emotion.

I remember this as a themesong of a movie with a shocking twist that dropped my jaw on the floor.

I knew those that saw the movie knew what the twist was. To say what it is would ruin the movie for those who haven't seen it.

I know the song but didn't know that Boy George sang it too. Thanks for sharing.

One of George's best! Love the movie, too.

I think this is Boy George's best song even better than his Culture Club songs.

Lyrics is good.
The music is so different then that of today. Seems like music doesn't express the sadness matched with the lyrics. But maybe it was perfect for then..
