In A World Of Her Own

While tootling along in my car,
Wherever I go, near or far,
Folks shout and they wave
I must be their fave,
Or perhaps they think I'm a star?
But one thing I don't understand,
Why is it that on their raised hand
They've only one finger?
Oh well, I can't linger,
I'm picking up speed - ain't life grand?
Now someone just asked if I'm blind,
He seemed so concerned, oh how kind,
But It wasn't my fault
That he came to a halt,
It's just a small dent - he won't mind.
A very big truck makes me veer,
Loud horns, and a scream in my ear,
My friend who's with me
Is squealing with glee,
(She doesn't get out much, poor dear).
We've had a nice trip, it's been swell,
At driving I seem to excel,
As homeward we sail
My friend's looking pale,
I wonder what's made her unwell?

Only the other day we encountered right in front of us someone who came very close when he overtook everyone else two at a time. Heart in the mouth feeling and another time one pulled straight out and went straight across all those white lines and straight off to another Road about 25 yards in a u turn very dangerous and we were very quick to react too wow close encounters that no one likes to have.

This one is great, Janet. It sounds like a new one to me. She's certainly oblivious to how others receive her driving expertise

I also feel swell after a Limerick trip That was awesome! We don't have the one finger salute here but you might encounter very nice choice words.

@Daljinder Both the one finger and two fingers are given here, but I couldn't work them both into the rhyme

@Asylum Actually, you're not going to get too much of an argument from me - if I see any driving like this, I say to myself it must be a woman. However, my son says I'm the best woman driver he's come across because I drive like a man.
Sorry not to reply 'in kind', but I had to go out and now I've got to prepare dinner, so haven't had time to think up a rhyme. I do appreciate yours though

We sure are curious to see the tale
That you just commenced on the rail
It might derail
What fun it would sail
Waiting for that female to send the mail

@Daljinder I thought you were going to say that that female should be in 'jail' Good rhyme though.

that sounds like some of the dingbats I see when I'm on the road and there've been times that silly wave was pointed at me as well .... as they finally get past the guy in the other lane and sail past me.
I'm not a slow driver but I do stay within the limit and when the highway has 2 lanes for each side I will pass a slower vehicle but I don't speed up to do so since that other guy is going under the limit.

I really wouldn't have figured you to be a dingbat @jaboUK and though I am a pretty good driver there are those in these parts that think we should all be going 80 miles per hour in areas that show we should only go 60 miles per hour, I set the cruise control at 63 or so and when needed I pass a slower vehicle ..... sometimes there's a fool behind me that wants to shove me outta the way though but I just stick to the 63 or 64 as I pass the guy doin 60.

This is so good , thanks for sharing on Mylot but its publishing material.....A book of funny rhymes.
If you take a trip by her side
Beware and woe betide
Chutzpah she's got
But a driver she's not,
It certainly won't be a joyride.
