Have you noticed......?

I do not like to throw out anything which is in good working condition,or can be recycled or may come in handy some day. Have you noticed that one may have something for years, gathering dust on the shelf, just adding to the clutter.......then you finally decide to give it away ....and within a day or two of that happening you find that you need that very thing,so you go out and buy another one, you can't possibly ask for the first one back. The other one is when your cleaning and tidying up this thingy, seems to be lying about the place. After days of it lying around you carefully put it away to be taken out when required. The problem is that you will need it in a couple of days ,... but you have put it away so carefully that you have forgotten where. Has anything like this happened to you? Photo credit: pixabay

the hubs's got 3 garages, 2 barns, the driveway 'n a 3-horse slant trailer with dressin' room (oh, fergot his red steel buildin'...) crammed full 'f that sorta schtuff. dang, fergot to mention his workshop, too. prolly coz one cannot get past the door.
's fer that tidyin' indoors, i tend to do that when i'm takin' steroids fer some reason. seems a perfectly logical place to put whate'er, yet i cannot find such fer 3 months when i'm 'sober' 'n 'tis needed, lol.

@crazyhorseladycx Is he a collector ? or just that he doesn't like to dispose of things? Men don't want women tackling their stuff It is amazing that you have been able to thwart his efforts to move things into the house.

I lose things, buy replacements and then relocate the originals frequently

@jennyjoy I keep them as spares when possible - sometimes I give them to others

I do not have a lot of stuff aside from the usual ones that I use regularly. When I have to move here in the US from a country 13,000 miles away, the experience made me realize that I should only have the things that I absolutely need or get to use at some point at least more than once in a year. So if I have to buy something, I check first what I already have and if I am set on buying a new one, I make sure that I clear a space for it In My closet or storage either by selling my old one, donating it or giving it away.

That is a good plan. I will give things away to people who will use it, normally I give to the old age homes.

Both these things happen to me continually. I don't throw out much now although I am also trying to declutter so I have continual battles with myself.
