I finally got my new glasses

They seem to grow more evil as I age. Obviously they do not like old people. Mirrors are AGEIST.

@Asylum I know! They were kind of nice ages ago, when I was young.

@marguicha , yes, i agree with you, mirrors are bad, bad creatures. They should be destroyed, banned from this earth.

@LadyDuck Anything is better than looking at those mirrors. They would have been perfect for Halloween.

I suppose that I could just turn them around.

It made a great change reading the prices in the supermarket without struggling.

@hereandthere The price is always of paramount interest. I do not mind paying for what I get, but do not want to pay unrealistic prices.

@Asylum prices are very important. you wouldn't want to be surprised when it's time to pay.

Look on the bright side, your mirror cannot be as scary as mine.

@pgntwo With some of the nonsense that I write, making it clearer just makes it more confusing.

It was difficult trying to take a decent photograph due to the reflection.

Those cheap glasses serve a purpose, but can be a real pain at times.

It is not always easy choosing the frames, but I am quite content with these.

Mirrors can be very unkind as we get older.

@shshiju I hope that it is their age that is making them show inaccurate reflections.

I should have kept a mirror from the 1960s because they were far more sympathetic in those days.

@paigea You will certainly find them less sarcastic than modern mirrors.

@Asylum I have a mirror from the 60s. I probably have clothes from the 70s. Maybe I should try them out.

It is a little disorientating to a degree, but nothing serious.

I felt so funny walking when I first got glasses a year ago. I felt like I was 10 feet tall, and I couldn't step down from the curb without taking them off. I am so glad I got used to them though.

@paigea I've worn glasses since I was a kid but get weird feelings when I get new glasses.

@Jeanniemaries I can wear bifocals but the varifocal lenses were impossible to tolerate.

I have worn glasses for about 30 years, yet due to the period without it still seemed a little strange at first.

@Asylum It's been about that long for me. I started out with a regular over the counter pair for distance and then when my close up vision started deteriorating I bought a stronger pair of half glasses and left them on top of my head, pulling them down over my originals as needed. My family was always poking fun at me, begging me to get bifocals. but I was happy with the arrangement, However when it was clear I needed trifocals I did go and get them. I was used to strong color lines using two pair of glasses so the tiny lines inside the triple lens didn't bother me in the least and I was surprisingly very happy with just one pair of glasses I could wear all the time.

I have managed to break one pair already.

@Hannihar Yes I have another pair, I always buy two pairs as a precaution. Annoyingly I actually sat on the glasses.

@Asylum Koalemos, do you have another pair? How did they break?

It is a situation that I had begun to believe would never happen.

I certainly do not look great.
