Not on here of course. I must say I just requested for my account to be deleted on this one health website that I've been a member of for years.
The long story short of it was that I was having a discussion about weight and how you could possibly be a high number yet still healthy. Which is what I am, I'm "overweight" according to the BMI chart but I'm mostly muscle and very strong. Well here comes this teenage girl (I'm assuming given her profile picture) who said something along the lines of "I would kill myself if I ever weighed as much as you". CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?
Have you ever had an experience like that? I know I shouldn't let it get to me but I just ended up deciding to delete my account because I've been seeing a lot of similar posts as of late and I don't think that the website is a healthy environment anymore.
How do you deal with people being mean on the internet? Do you just let it go or do you say something?

Agreed. Anonymity is a great shield.
I think I would have said something (because we are two different people and I often have difficulty refraining from saying something when I really shouldn't) to her. I probably would have "congratulated" her for being both light on the scale and light in her mind due to all the air between her temples then blocked her.

@msiduri Ha, I found that to be funny and it made me smile. I honestly think if I would have said something a huge argument would have started. There were some other people that commented and said that person was being rude and such but I think it was just the nail in the coffin for me to finally leave that website. This also means I'm going to be spending more time on MyLot again so I guess it's a win-win!

What is wrong with people is right! I spend time on a site where people behave like that. But there are sections of that site where it isn't permitted so I spend my time in those areas. I find the people who behave that way are not going to listen to me so I stay away.

I unjoin and avoid whatever is hurtful or unhealthy. Personally, I get it about BMI not being accurate. I have always weighed much more than I looked like, and I still do. I am unhealthy now, but years ago I was consistently 20 lbs. heavier than what I appeared to be due to muscle and heavy bone density.

That is very rude!
Some people need to shut their mouth if they have nothing to say.
I had an ex co worker tell me oh you gained weight... and I don't even talk to that person EVER. Like really wow and it was a guy!

@Bellatricks
Very rude!
If they have nothing nice to say don't say it at all.

Oh my gosh! How can anyone say something like that? What is wrong with people??
I'm so sorry someone said that to you, that's just horrible!
That girl needs her parents to supervise what she's saying online!

@Bellatricks Some people are fond of the sound of their own voice, even if it is type written and they never think, or even listen to themselves.

Sorry to hear of your experience ..it was probably a ignorant child who made that comment.
I have had rude remarks said to me a few times...but i know they are just cowards behind a computer screen. So i have a simple solution to block such people so they cant harm my mental peace ...they aren't worth the time we might waste arguing with them...might as erase them and live happily in my own world.

I think internet is just helping people be more bad and cruel without feeling guilt for it.
