Christmas may be one of the most beautyfull time of a year. It's already near. In the village where I am living, they already start to fill the streets with ornaments. Today, I started to make a list of all the persons, I want to give a present at Christmas eve and I started to look for ideas. The dinner for the 24th of December will be prepared one day before and we will celebrate it with our family. How do you celebrate Christmas in your country? When do you start to prepare the Christmas tree?

We have the tradition to put up the Christmas decorations on December 6th (St. Nicolas) and to put them off the 6th of January the day of the Epiphany.

In Spain, the tradition is to give the presents on the sixth of January, that's the most important day in the spanish culture. On 24th of December, they celebrate a special dinner with the whole family. So, here the tree is coming of a few days after.

That's great. And how long for do you leave the Christmas tree? Here in Spain, they usually leave it until the 8th of January. But, there are also families who leave it longer. We already put it at the beginning of December, as we love the Christmas lights.

I enjoy Christmas! I has been one of the yearly holidays that bring memories to me. Christmas was the most expected time of the year for me, not only for the presents, but also for the family and the variety of light colors and food

I also enjoy de different lights all around in different colors. And it's one of the time the whole family stays together and shares a bit of time. It's the time where you forget all the problems and personal handicaps.

We start preparing a week before December starts. If we are making gifts then we start whenever, but for decorations it is normally after the US Thanksgiving. That is just what my family does anyway.

I usually put up our Christmas around first week of December. This year I might start on it a little late, probably during our school break. I am still busy with school. We also plan to have dinner with friends on Christmas eve, then visit my boyfriend's relatives on Christmas Day. Of course there is also the usual shopping and visits to fairs.
