Last night when I'm buying something on store, two little girls approached me and asked to give them money for food. When I saw these little girls, they are just look fine and clean. Then out of nowhere I flared up and told them that it is not my money if it is mine I can give them, and asked them if where are their parents, and I even got too far by saying that their parents just let them born them and never feed them. Then while the store owner is giving my change, he heard me and answered that their parents are playing local poker. To which I just replied, amazing parents. Then I overheard one of the girls said " e di wag" in English it is just like " never mind" LOL Am I bad in my behavior last night? Sometimes my tongue slips and thought that I am right by saying it. Will you give alms should you encounter the same? Or will you even too said something to them?

How I hate the parents of these children begging alms in the streets or jeepneys. Some of these parents even force their children to beg for alms. They are so irresponsible...

That is what I think too. I think should they are not ready to be a good parents then they should not also contributed to population explosion and exploitation of their children.

it is ok to refuse...that is your choice...but it would have been better if you didn't say such things to them. They are just children....there is no one to guide them right ...that is why they do such things.

my bad there.. can't control my tongue LOL..I'm hoping that they can tell the story to their parents on what happened in the street and hoping too that their parents should realize to reprimand their children from begging.

Once when I was in college there in Manila, you know typical college student who is broke, a young boy approached me saying he has not eaten anything yet. So I gave him 20 pesos. For a broke student, that means my jeepney fare for 2 full commutes going to and from the university. I was saving that money for my snacks later but now it's either I buy food or I walk home. I decided to just eat at home. And while waiting for a jeepney, I saw the same kid gave the 20 pesos to his mom and the mom went on to the store and bought - gin. Ohhh it makes me mad just remembering that incident.

sometimes things like your experience happened to make us realized or help to put judgement on the next time we give help. I too remember similar experience but it was my classmate experience, we were waiting for a bus when an old woman asked for money, my classmate gave 1 peso, but to our surprised the beggar gave back the one peso and complained to my classmate that he looks good but can only afford to give 1 peso lol

I won't. It's your choice not to give so that they won't abuse it.

you are right, that is why i don't usually give to avoid being abuse because I think these mendicants will just continue doing it as long as there is someone giving.

Sad that their parents were wasting their money playing poker. The kids may have been hungry.

Really sad. But when I saw the kids I think they just pretending to be hungry they don't look hungry at all.

Asking where their parents were is a good question.

Thanks, I think since they don't answered my question, those kids are not telling the truth.
