There Comes a Time

I know I've been going to the store more than my usual, but one thing I haven't been buying is groceries. Well, I couldn't put it off any longer. I kept opening the fridge and my cupboards with the same result - nothing to eat. So I took myself in hand and went shopping first thing this morning.
I should be set for the rest of the month. Hopefully, other than Thanksgiving. I did price turkeys, but didn't buy it yet. I'll do that closer to Thanksgiving.
So I expected to come home with only a couple bags of groceries and instead I think there were five or six and a crockpot. Yes, I bought a new crockpot. I had to throw out both the ones I had when I moved, and though I don't use them often, those beef short ribs I had on vacation were so good I'm hoping I can achieve the same with the crockpot. I did buy some meat, beef ribs among them, so we'll see how it all turns out.
Wal-Mart was all decked out for Christmas with red and white striping around the entrance polls and Christmas music playing in the store. It's getting to be that time of year. I didn't buy anything Christmas on this trip, but I know that's also coming up.
So now my belly is full, the food is put away, and I'm thinking about cooking my pot roast in it today for dinner, or maybe wait until tomorrow. Not certain yet about that.
Anyway, that was my morning, and when I got home and settled here I couldn't resist this spot of gold outside my window.
How is your day going? Thanks for reading.

@Marty1 I've been looking for Christmas cards and haven't found any yet. Though I didn't look for them yesterday. The pot roast is still in the crock pot. I had a large portion yesterday, and turned it on again when I went to church this morning and just finished another helping. I'll finish it off later.

I've been having a few groceries delivered every week so I've been good. This week I added a few things for Thanksgiving that I can keep in the freezer until that week. Since it will be just me and my nephew, and since we're not crazy about turkey, I'm going to make a pork roast. I actually can't wait!

They're starting to now. Usually though they are all gone by this time, but we had a very wet summer so everything was green longer than normal, so this gold is still everywhere along with various shades of red and orange. There are also some stark trees, but not many yet.

@just4him I have several I have to figure out. I have dad mostly done, he gets money to get kindle books, and then some candy for his stocking. that leaves me with mom, gram, aunt, sister, brother in law, my J, and a couple of people I gotta do something small for.

@Jessicalynnt It's good when you know what you're going to get them.

I just got back from grocery shopping myself. I didn't buy much because I bought a lot last week. I just needed some odds and ends. I think I am going to have some lunch and then hang around here for a bit or longer.

Sounds as if you are stocked up for a while!
Saturday, I attended an all day (9:30 to 4:30) Bible study convention with more than 2000 in attendance. There were 5 in my car group. The theme was about 'increasing our faith' based on Hebrews 11:6. Lots to take in. My friend suggested that we go for pizza for supper and so three of us did so.
Here is a picture I took on Friday just near where I live.

I got some exams graded and entered, and one progress note done. And I sent a pair of vintage loudspeakers home with their happy owner. But the highlight of my day was singing The Pirate Song with my neighbor kid friend after we went cycling to deposit my speaker money. We're gonna have to record it. I think we could be an "internet sensation."

Walmart here entrance polls are decked out the same (all five supercenters and 2 neighborhood markets) Grocery shopping was done today and now I am here between mylot and surveying. I will be doing a chuck roast on Tuesday in the crock pot after searing both sides of the meat and adding new potatoes onions, garlic and carrots. Tonight it will be something with ground beef and tomorrow is chicken.

Sounds good. I'm planning to do more crock pot cooking than in the past. Hopefully it will keep the smoke alarm quiet. I made burgers on the griddle and as soon as I lifted the cover off the burgers the alarm went off. Annoying!

So good to read on this....indeed each morning or each day brings a new beginning to everyone of us, and this is a wonderful blessing each and everyone of us needs to be thankful for.

I'm glad you were able to get the grocery shopping done. I know how exhausting it can be, but it's worth it. Awesome about the crockpot!
My day has been fine, other than feeling tired. I hung out with my bestie for a bit, and now I'm home for the evening. :)

It was raining here most of the day here. We went to a craft show and I bought two dollar pictures one of a cat and one a dragon that I will take a picture of later.

i'm near jealous 'f such a wonderful display 'f autumn jest outside yer window, ms. valerie. glad'ja got'cha some groceries 'n hope that'cher gonna put that crockpot to great use. i'd use one here, but if'n the hubs knows food came from such, he'll refuse to eat 't. he's jest weird like that. i used to cook roasts 'n ours, pull 'em out 'bout'n hour 'fore time fer him to come home'n put 'em'n the oven. gave me time fer the crockpot to cool 'n be washed/dried/put 'way'n he t'was none the wiser. i did confess this to him jest today :)

Some trees really do seem like they have leaves of gold, don't they?
