How The Horse became master of the digital era!

Most who know me know of my disdain for all things "digital." My stereo is tube based, and my favorite musical source is analog (records). I've been known to take out my flamethrower and burn up peoples' shoes when they're texting while walking by me. Even my clocks were analog, with real dial faces, until recently.
When my old alarm clock stopped alarming me in the mornings, I went to Target to get a new one. To my horror, there were no regular alarm clocks there with a real dial face. Everything had "genuine digital readout." So I bit the bullet and found the simplest one I could find. It cost me something like $15.
This morning, I had to set my newish alarm clock back an hour, due to Daylight Savings Time ending. Of course, I had long since misplaced the instructions that came with it. I pressed the time button. Nothing. I pressed the hour button. Nothing. I pressed the minute button. Nothing.
It was then that I had my epiphany. What would happen if I pressed the time button and the hour button at the same time? Voila! Not only did I set the hour correctly, but I advanced the minutes by one to be consistent with the correct time on my computer! I am now master of the digital era. Perhaps I'll buy a smart phone some day.
Did you have to reset your clock this morning?

@vandana7 *DE sticks his finger down his throat, making gagging sounds until vanny stops making goo goo eyes at pony!*
Why don't you two get a room? It's too early in the day for that much sweetener to be inflicted on the rest of us on myLot!

Our bedside clock is like that. I used to have to get Vince to reset it whenever needed. The power going off stops it in its tracks. But there was always a bit of sighing and an implied 'it's not rocket science' and 'even a woman should be able to do this' so in the end I worked out how to do it myself - just like you did. We must both be very clever people, don't you think?

@TheHorse I apologize, pony, but I am forced (by my own insatiable curiosity) to ask this... Do you even know how to text someone?

@DaddyEvil He said he's gonna show someone how to text. What part of 'gonna show someone' don't you understand? :)

Congratulations on becoming a master of the digital Era. I reset my clocks last night before I went to bed.

I rely on a battery operated alarm clock. I got sick of the flashing 12:00 because of the frequent power surges here. I was always having to reset the digital. Which was a breeze last night.

@TheHorse - I meant resetting the battery clock was a breeze - the digital clock is more mysterious to me than you can imagine :))

@suziecat7 Oh, Just remember that there are little Gods in there. If you pray to them, and then hit a bunch of buttons, your clock will show the right time.

@crazyhorseladycx A fella needs to gripe, you know. Off topic, sort of, I sure will be glad when I don't have to hear The Donald's voice every day. I want this election to be OVER!

@TheHorse It has not officially happened yet - if the government gets to invoke the treaty article 50 to start the process next March, it will be March 2019 at the earliest before the umbilicus has been completely severed...
Meantime, the UK pound sinks in value, making oil and goods more expensive... and that is just the start of it.

I reset them before bed. I have three that are not digital and three that are. The electronics reset themselves. Nice.

@TheHorse It was a bit of an issue this time. My Fitbit reset itself in the early evening. Confused the heck out of me until I realized that had happened.

Are you kidding me? You didn't even have a digital alarm clock, pony??? I would not believe anyone else about something like this, but I think you really didn't have even the most basic digital clock until you bought that one! (Shaking my head in amazement!)
No, I didn't need to change the time on my clocks yesterday morning when I woke up... Just like my smart phone, my digital clocks get the correct time beamed to them every night at 4 am.... rain or shine, heck or high water, my clocks are always exact to within a few milliseconds per year. (The master time keeper has now been calculated to be accurate to less than one second in 100 million years. (NIST-F1 is housed in Boulder Mountain in Colorado. That is the name of the atomic master clock.)
Honestly, pony, you are something else! SMH!

I'm away from home at the moment. Tuesday night a few clocks will need the time adjusted. My alarm clock is high tech (knows more than me) and will have automatically reset.
