Exploring Tours Our first stop in France was the charming town of Tours where we stayed in an Air bnb Cottage, which was a great experience. The owner had written out a message to us in English and in French. We were very impressed about how people seem to be very minimalistic, they have just what they need and nothing else. I have tried to be like this since I returned home, with little success. The stairs up to our room were quite challenging as they were quite steep. Tours is located at the heart of an area that is exceptionally rich in heritage, The Chateaux and homes of France’s past Kings and Queens are still intact. And from Tours it is possible to travel to some of these Chateaus. One of our favourite places to explore was a small square surrounded by half timbered houses named Place Plumereau. We tried out some of the many eating places that seemed to be always full and Stores selling leather shoes and handbags and almost anything else your heart could desire. On the weekend the place is completely transformed by the Markets where there must be at least 50 stalls containing a variety of Cheeses, Meats, Wines, Oysters, Spices and locally made products. One day we bought food from the Markets to have as a picnic at one of the Chateaux we were going to visit. But that is another story for next time. Now I'm off the week-end to a Blues Festival, five of us will be sleeping in a tent, hopefully it wont be too cold.

Enjoy the Festival. It is cold here again so Bridgetown could possibly be quite chilly. We're going to a bluegrass concert at Yabberup tomorrow night (Friday). Perhaps the group are going on to Bridgetown. They're called The Company.

I will look out for The Company. It's raining here, what ever happened to summer I want to know.
