A Hard Day Outside

I am just back from a full day outside. Today I had my annual check up with my eye doctor, who is about 30 miles from our home. As his office is not far from an Ikea store, I took advantage of this visit to go shopping for some stuff I needed for the house. I found what I needed, but Ikea is always an exhausting experience. The day has been extremely cold and I am more than happy to be at home, enjoying a hot chocolate. Has your day been pleasant so far?

I do find days away from home to be exhausting. I called in sick today and will soon go back to bed. I have put a casserole in the crock pot for a hot and tasty supper. I am brewing some garlic broth as suggested in my herbal class to use in making other soups. We need to turn the heat on here as we have not done so yet.

We had to turn the heat on at mid-October, here it's cold, today we have been around 32 all the day. I think I am going to take a hot bath, I cannot warm up.

It has been an average day, but certainly a very cold one. We had a massive period of heavy hailstone earlier.

@LadyDuck I grew accustomed to eye drops a long time ago. The anaesthetic drops can be amusing because they are designed to burn so much that they deaden the sensation.

Did you had hailstone? It's unusual during this season. My eyes hurt badly, I hate the drops that they use to look inside your eyes.

@Asylum I have the habit to the eye drops because I need to use them at least once a day to keep my intraocular pressure under control. It was too high today too, I already had glaucoma surgery, so I do not know what to do more.

Ikea is a beautiful store that sells plenty of different stuff for the house, from furniture to spoons, cups and dishes. It's a big store so you walk for hours searching what they have, because they add interesting new stuff quite often. This is why it's exhausting. Well my eyes are not too bad, but I have to have them checked at least once a year because I risk a glaucoma.

@SIMPLYD Glaucoma is caused by an abnormally high pressure in your eyes. My doctor explained that my eyes are a bit bigger than a normal eyes and this is the cause, because the liquid inside the eyes cannot goes out normally. If not treated it damages the optic nerve. Four years ago I went to a shop to have a new pair of glasses, they checked and they told me to go to see an eye doctor. I am glad that they discovered the problem.

@marlina So true, I do not like to have to put eye drops twice a day, but at least I have nothing else do to.

Ma doctor said that for the moment the glaucoma is under control, I only have to continue with the eye drops, that I hate.

'til i got'n the puter anyhow. so much ugliness goin' 'round that't saddens my heart. that bein' said i truly 'ppreciate this discussion 'n those from other folks who aint self-absorbed with their political ideas. big hugs!

Ikea is a nice store, but so big that you spend hours searching what you need. I have to check my eyes every year because the fluid pressure inside my eyes is a bit too high and I am at risk of glaucoma. Yesterday the doctor said it has not changed from last year, I continue to use the eye drops every day and I cross my fingers. Thanks for your concern. Big hugs.

@crazyhorseladycx Ask a doctor to check your eyes, I was scared when they told me I had a risk of glaucoma, it's better to have this checked. Good luck and a big hug.

I needed the chair pads, because I wanted to change those we had now and I have found what I needed. My husband has seen a mug and saucer set and a ceramic milk jug that he loved and now we have more stuff we did not need. I should find a place to "park" him when I go shopping.

I love stopping at Ikea when I get the chance, its not near by so its a treat when I happen to be in the area. I'm having trouble staying on Facebook with my friends because there is so much ate there right now. I can't read any more crap, I hope it stops soon.

I had a very productive day yesterday! My girlfriend and I got up early and went on a nature hike, and saw some amazing wildlife, including a herd of bison and a herd of wild horses! We also visited a local winery, and then went to a college football game. Last night, we built a big bonfire and had a cookout on the grill for my daughter's birthday. Her birthday was two weeks ago, but this weekend was the first weekend we could get everyone in the family together for a big celebration.
