A Divided myLot

One thing I've seen a lot of since Tuesday is a lot of division taking place on myLot with the recent election.
Why?
I know people will react differently because of who won or lost the election, but it isn't the end of the world. The sun is shining. We have a new day to enjoy all God's miracles for us.
Let's get past this and be the loving and caring site we were from the moment I started on here and I'm sure even before that.
There is only one thing we can do now for our new president elect, regardless of what we think of him, and that is pray for him to have wisdom in all the decisions he makes regarding the country he will preside over. He won't be alone in governing, he has Congress and the Senate as well as the Supreme Court to keep him in check.
Prayer is needed, not all the fighting and bickering, not the threats of suicide or thoughts of fleeing the country. Prayer is the only thing that can help us all now.
So please, let's stop with the dissension I'm seeing even here on myLot. I don't want to see the site torn apart because of an election.
Thank you.

@just4him Hopefully Donald will do a better job of running our nation that Ray Nagin ran New Orleans as mayor for eight years. Hurricane Katrina was his test to lead and he failed to get buses to the people who could not get of town before the storm hit.

I have seen the same thing and I just try to stay away from it all at this point. I still love all of my friends here no matter who they voted for or how they feel about who was elected. Prayer is what we have always needed, no matter what.

I just had a friend on the phone insisting God told her He wanted Trump to be president. I have no idea except that whoever is president of anywhere we need to pray. I just cannot get my head around the way people are reacting in the US. We had "Thatcher the Milk Snatcher" here and it got difficult for many, but I never heard of anyone here needing a counselor because the Prime Minister changed. One thing everyone needs to remember is that there are other countries here and other priorities as we do not live in the US. It is sad if things get political as it will run people off the board.
The last chat place I was involved in failed when the owner demanded we all support George Bush. Politics needs to be left out of a board like this unless people can ignore threads they dislike.

Trump could not have been elected president if God's hand wasn't in it and he was elected to serve God's purpose and all we can do is what it sat in 2 Chronicles 7:14 and that is what this land needs a true humbling and the seeking God for a healing in the land.

@stbrians Absolutely sure. I will take you on a small journey.
John 19:10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. (KJV)
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. (KJV)
Daniel 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: (KJV)
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. (KJV)
Psalm 75:7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. (KJV)

i've been tryin' to spread this message, too, ms. valerie. some jest aint content to do so though 'n continue to not see past their bitterness, which 'tis misplaced. the riots 'n all the other b.s. goin' 'round needs to stop. the ugliness here towards others who disagree needs to stop. unfortunately, don't matter what we say, they all continue :(
's fer those wishin' to leave our great country, i'll gladly help 'em pack 'n send 'em'n their way.

Very well said.
Politics and religion become emotional for some - my way or the high way reaction then.
I believe all is for the good and happen for a purpose provided we react positively.
We have a new perspective after a change and that is needed too - siva

I have not noticed any such thing, but then I wander in different areas. Even if the rift is there, I would like to point out previously we had categories for religion and politics....many avoided those discussions for the pretty same reason - it was explosive. I have seen that since start.
Ours is a political country and these days I am not so politically correct too. I don't mind much.

I haven't noticed, but this hasn't been my week with writing/blogging stuff (nothing to do with the election). I'm sorry to hear it's been happening on here, as I've seen it happen on Facebook and Twitter, and I'll be glad to delete comments if it winds up on any of my posts (I don't talk politics/election, but still). I definitely hope things can return to normal around here. :(

I haven't seen many posts about the election really. Some not many. Yes there is division. But the bigger picture is not MyLot. It is the country. We do have a divided country right now and that is never a good thing. But we all have to realize that the people in charge now, some of them are worse than trump could be. There will be cuts to the people on medicare and social security. That in itself will be devastating. Some elderly live hand to mouth right now. Imagine those cuts and see what happens. We also have to worry about the who russian thing. How they were able to manipulate the election. What dealings does he have with them and how much money does he owe. No one knows. He is not a likable person, even a vast amount of republicans don't like him. What we all need to worry about is the fact that he is a blank slate right now, trump I mean. And he can be molded by these radical tea party people to totally undo all the progress we have made and make things worse. This country could wind up no better than China or Russia. We all should be afraid now. Republicans and democrats alike. That is where I see the country coming together again. In the wake of major hurtful changes. No one wants to have a bleak future. As for MyLot, well, people here, like any other social site, are going to voice their opinions and feelings. It is human nature. You can choose to ignore the things going on around you. But you cannot hide from them. They are there and they are real. I am no knocking anyone here. I love MyLot and will continue to for a long time. Just don't close yourself off to the real world about this issue. You can ignore posts here if you choose. That's fine. But please don't close yourself off from the real world and the things that are going on. I am not in favor of hate or destruction either. But it is happening now. Imagine if trump lost. What would they be doing in the streets. I read an article that said the white supremacists were ready to start beating and shooting minorities. Now that would be worse than protesting. This country has fallen in my eyes. It will take many years to come back, if it ever could. Yes we have to live here and deal with it. But always expect disagreements from people. That will never change.

We can just get along with each other, and help each other, that's what will keep mylot altogether.
I post, respond, comment, and I expect other users to do the same for me if they find my activities.
Prayers ? Prayers are always good, they change our mind to think about good things. That's starts a chain of positive thinking, good feelings and positive actions as a result.
But, even if the president for example, make a bad rule, that somehow is fair for one but not fair for the other, we can help the other.

@just4him Praying has it's mystic way to help, actions are more immediate and obvious.
Just praying will probably make a difference, but, it's not my way of solving things.

@stringer321 I do not look at prayer as mystic. That takes God out of the picture.

I agree. We need to get past this and support him, if in no other way than prayer, so be it. Prayer changes things.
