For how long should you know a guitar before you sleep with it?

I recently went ahead and bought a new guitar. It's a Modern Martin D-18, an updated version of one of their standard dreadnoughts.
When my day is done, I often grab either my mandolin or one of my guitars and kick back on my bed, playing away.
Three times now I've fallen asleep with my Martin in my arms. I've only had it a month. Am I being promiscuous?

@LadyDuck .. Weird, right? I mean ..she wastes her entire life for that silly stubbornness? Goes to an extent of adopting so many kids and has a couple of her own...what is wrong with her...making another woman unhappy ...to that extent...can she make her children happy ..it is she from whom those kids need protection. I don't believe he hurt the kids...if he was hurting kids, he would have done it much before...before their marriage...there must have been something that the kid did too...why is it that we have to decide based on one side of the story...smh..whatever..I was trying to pull Pony's legs. lol

He is like a child, he spills the beans before beans are ready to be spilled...SMH. If Angelina Jolie had married him, she would have no problem in seeking divorce ... ill treating children indeed..of all the silly reasons after so many adoptions and natural children ..and so many years together...hmm..I bet marriage was to get some of Brad Pitt's wealth...in relationship she would not have got it, right?

@vandana7 I do not believe that Angelina married Brad Pitt to "steal" some of his money. Looking at the characteristics of this woman, I think she had something against Jennifer Aniston. It was not enough to steal her husband, she had to show that she was able to marry him.

@JudyEv How do you mean "getting out of the washing up"? Oh, you mean he played when he lived at home and would use his callouses as an excuse not to wash his hands before dinner? I haven't played bass in a week or two. My right hand callouses are disappearing. My left hand ones are fine.

Absolutely!!! You love the curves and smoothness, gentle whispers and tang..now I know why you go missing when I need you around...to lose to another woman is somewhat normal, to lose you to a guitar, that too with a name like Martin..and not Martina - @DaddyEvil...please come and console me..

@TheHorse ..I don't know the exact word ...porridge is the one I should call for it I suppose..I mean..you could end up putting your hand on those strings and accidentally making those sounds..which would not exactly be a note...let me try explaining it ..suppose..I pull a strand of my hair near forehead (around a foot long) and hold it straight..and use my nail of index finger up and down on it..there would be some sound..what would you call it? Another one...you take a book use eraser between the book and a rubber band and try to play it...some sound comes...what do you call it.

OMG! pony, when one of your friends calls you a sluut, don't blame us! (I believe you will find it is your mandolin who has started those rumors, and well she should, too!)
Sluut!

I can understand wanting just the right tune and did laugh over the sleeping title. Never had a guitar, but use to play the Banjo. Miss playing in a band, but all of us moved on with life getting married and children. College was a fun time and I remember the cool music like it was yesterday.

If your time with Martin doesn't get in the way of any other relationships, then you should be okay, I'd think. You just may not want to share this situation with your teacher friends, they may think you're a bit weird or something. I hope you don't accidentally break Martin's neck because you didn't make him rest in the chair instead.
