How to Thank a Veteran

Today, regardless of serving during peacetime or wartime, we appreciate veteran's. Lot's of "Thank you for your service."
Want the best way to thank a veteran? Stop voting for candidates that will gleefully send them to war in the name of profits, yet cut their benefits when they come home.
End of rant.

I like what you're saying
Essentially the professional military are there to fight so the civilian population don't have to.
I think they've been let down terribly by the politicians in the UK and US...by being sent to fight wars that didn't need fighting in my opinion.
I also agree that if a country sends people to fight it MUST look after them well when they return and that certainly is not the case in the UK.

Iraq being a major case in point on unnecessary wars, which then propelled the US and the UK into this never ending mess.

Yes! I love these brave men who have never been shot at raring to invade and send our men and women into harm's way, then not taking carer of them when they come home.

i have been wanting to write a post about a bouncy pop song back in 1984 that was a big hit and still played here. i was a teenager then, but have always felt there was an underlying message in the lyrics.
the song is state of the nation by industry.

Well written. And so, so true. There'd be no wars if the politicians and bureaucrats had to be in the front line.

Not to mention that they fix it so that their own kids don't have to serve, either.
