The vet who operated on Yardo, the canine cop shot yesterday, reports that the animal will survive. He was shot multiple times by a man police were after. One policeman is still in the hospital, the other walked out of the hospital after being released this morning. The one that is still in the hospital had another surgery this morning and are cautiously optimistic about his condition. There will be a lot of reconstructive surgery and take a long time for him to get back to normal, if at all.
The dog has about a month of rehab yet. He may go home in a couple of days.
My heart goes out to the families of these policemen and the canine.

He seems to be coming along nicely. The one policeman will have a long time of healing up. Reconstructive surgery and all.

Well, this was a police matter. The guy had been on the run and desperate. The dog is a canine officer with the police. He was going in protecting his handler. A real hero!
