Late for work due to roadworks

I hate to be late for work but this morning I took off from home on time only to find that the road to my work is closed due to works. Not only that I had to drive around but I got into traffic jam because everyone else had to take that road too. The good thing is that I have a great boss. He is not strict and would turn a blind eye most of the time. But not if it happens too often of course. Anyways, I know that I have to take off earlier on Thursday (no work tomorrow) but I hope the works will be over by then. I took the picture of the closed road to share it with you

It is really provoking when we meet traffic when we are on the way to work.

@Madshadi lol. The worse one is when we are asked a driver's license and we have none.

Even worse when you have to drive around not knowing if the next turn is closed too

It is so annoying when that happens. It's good that you have such a good boss who isn't a stickler for being on time. There are things that are out of our control and this is definitely one of those times.

True! He knows that we are not doing it deliberately. We (the team I'm working with) have been together for more than five years and we work very hard. If one of us comes late he wouldn't even ask why. Most bosses are not like that by the way

@Madshadi It isn't everyday you're late and really it was due to construction (which is a pain in the tush) during traffic hours!

@Madshadi Yup that is correct, there are even times that even if they're cementing the road. they'll destroy it again tomorrow :(

I'm glad your boss is understanding. There isn't much you can do about it if they are working on the roads.

An understanding boss can make your day at work much easier and less stressful. And in return you appreciate it and try your best to be productive.

@Madshadi That is very true. I was lucky to have a very good boss and I was willing to work very hard for her.
