Good morning friends. The day has come. I separated the tiny seedlings a couple of weeks ago and now they are ready to be planted in soil. I will have enough plants to make pesto for the whole year plus some raw leaves to add flavour to salads. Basil means spring and summer to me. There are many dishes I make with them. And when there´s some leftover pasta with pesto I cook an awesome minestrone. We also add basil to our corn pies and to our spring beans. The soil is ready and we watered it so that it was moist for today. Do you plant basil?

I don't know why everytime I plant, they don't grow. I am discouraged so I don't plant.

I planted the small seedlings first in containers in the shadow. When they grew a bit, I transpplanted them. Now it is the time. I will not place them with too much sun as they are plants where we use the leaves.

The basil you use, and the basil we use are very different. We don't use them in cooking of course, but they are used in many medications.

We planted six basil plants just a week or so ago. I might try making pesto this year.

We don't use basil leaves much. So we don't have to plant basil Secondly I ain't sure whether the weather here would be suitable for basil..

If you don´t use it, it´s probably because you can´t grow it in your climate.
