My oldest sister had surgery today

She is in recovery and everything went fine. She was having a lot of stomach problems, indigestion, etc. She went to see her doctor and after running tests they discovered that her stomache was in the wrong place. They said she must have fallen and it shifted her stomache out of place so nothing was lined up properly.
Last winter she fell going down the icy steps and hit her back pretty hard so they figured that is when it happened. They said it needed to be fixed as soon as possible so they got her in pretty quickly. She will be in the hospital for a week and then it will be a six weeks recovery.
This is the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. Do any of you know anybody that this has happened to?

I've never heard of anything like that but I guess it's possible a serious fall could do that kind of damage. Glad your sister is out of surgery and I wish her a speedy recovery

Thanks. She is not one to ever complain much so it was hard to know how much pain she was really in.

Maybe so but she did see the xray and the doctor was quite clear about it. He said it is rare but it can happen if you have a bad enough fall.
