My husband said that when we did not gain money, we gained experience.

I try to be positive about things. Most recently, I didn't achieve something I wanted because I wanted a higher grade for my degree. I only got a third. Of course, I was disappointed but, with support from my other half, I was reminded that I hadn't failed because I did gain the degree. I had worked hard for it. I know I could have worked harder but there were, again as the other half pointed out, so many other things going on. I completed something difficult while working, raising a family, caring for family, and doing goodness knows what else. So, rather than saying 'I didn't do that as well as I'd liked', I will say 'I did it, despite all the obstacles'.
