Accused of Lying ... But I Will Pull Through

Well, sadly because I want to transfer work locations, but my current managers want me to stay where I am, they thought it would be a good idea to tell me they don't believe I have an anxiety disorder that causes me to have panic attacks on the train to work. Said I just don't want to be there anymore. They asked for a special form to be filled out by my doctor in order for me to be able to leave on November 30th. Of course that is not a problem as anxiety is a very real condition and my doctor will have no problem signing. I just can't believe they went to these lengths to try and make me STAY. My general manager also made it a point to tell me in a very snarky tone of voice that he is my BOSS and not my FRIEND. I don't know exactly what prompted him to say that but I was certainly not impressed or pleased. I wrote to our HR department right away and told them how I was being treated. I got an email back almost right away saying that there is a misunderstanding on both sides and that they support my transfer and that we should all meet and discuss. I told them I don't want another meeting with my manager but I will have a private meeting with our HR lady. So that is happening today. I then got an email from my manager saying that we will 'hold off' on the form until my meeting with HR. Wow. So they tried this tactic and thought I wouldn't fight back? Wrong! LoL. So today I have brought my medication with me to work as proof of my condition and will tell them I am still willing to have the form signed if need be. I am out of there November 30th. I will advocate for those who deal with any kind of mental illness, including myself, so they have certainly picked the wrong woman to mess with. Take care. It is sad how people have to be. You want out and that is horrible how they have treated you.

I can't believe that they are giving you so many problems about your transfer. That is just not right! I hope all goes well at the meeting with HR and that by Nov. 30 you will be out of there and free from all of them at the store.

@MissNikki I am shocked and really pissed off that you were being treated that way! Whether they believe you have anxiety or not or even is this wasn't about anxiety, no one should being trying to hold you there if you don't want to be and doing it in a nasty way! Makes me really mad! People suck sometimes!

Good for you. I just had to make a change in employment due to an anxiety-inducing environment. I now work remote and like it so much better. Hopefully, your boss has learned a little something about mental illness.
