A Week Away...

Oh, my!! Thanksgiving is just a week away!! The holidays are fast approaching us! This year has gone by so fast!! We're still enjoying warm weather. However, I think the weather is going to be changing as we've got a chance of snow. However, I think we're going to be missing out on most of it, but we're suppose to have some thunderstorms!! By morning it might turn to slush though as the temperatures lower. We got invited to our older's sons for Thanksgiving. The hubby really didn't want to, but I have leverage!! I said we should go so we can see our granddaughter! So, now I think he wants to!! Besides I won't have to cook!! Do you have plans for Thanksgiving? ~Peace~ photo courtesy of pixabay

No plans, it isn't a celebration at all here. I know in the US it is a big deal and you have family meals and such but do you give thanksgiving presents like christmas? I bet having 2 big holidays so close together can be expensive???

@msiduri so really it's just a travelling and food expense if you're meeting up with family? Do airlines hike prices around thanksgiving as I bet a lot of US people have to fly to see family as the country is so big.

@Mike197602 I'm sure the airlines would say they don't. Frankly, I'm not sure. But yes, it's one of the busiest travel times of the year. Another wrinkle is that colleges are out for that weekend. Many college students go home. Depending on how far away from home they are, it might be the first time they've seen Mom and Dad since the fall.

@msiduri I bet prices go up, just the same as they do here during the summer school holiday.

We donĀ“t celebrate Thaksgiving here. I think your celebration is what I would like. You get invited, in a place of honour and your granddaughter is there. What else could you wish for?
