One Bag Out of 25 or So Done

I did go to sit n' sew Friday evening, and I did work on cutting fabrics to make the drawstring backpacks. I got quite a few cut out, just in fabrics I thought the guys would be ok with. In my picture if the only one that I have completely done so far, and I just put it together today. I will keep sewing on and off on them today as I can, as well as throughout the next week. I'm pretty sure it will be after Thanksgiving before I get the table out here at home and start getting fabrics cut for the younger children's bag and the bags for the females. I just wish I had put together those 2 bags earlier and got the idea for these as gifts sooner. Of course, it's like this for me every year....that push right up until Christmas to get the gifts made. I think I asked before if you are making any of your gifts this year.

I am so not a crafty person. I might make some no bake cookies and goodies and tin them up for family and friends but that will be the extent of homemade gifts. Love those bags.

The girls and I have a tradition of a "family" baking day and we cook and bake and bag or tin up treats for everyone. That hasn't been discussed yet this year.

@marsha32 That is a good family tradition! I like that idea. It would be nice if I could get my sisters in on a project like this.

Nice. Love the plaid. I don't make much of anything. Writing is about my only 'craft'. Too bad you wait so long to get busy on your gifts. I think that if you wanted it easier you would start earlier wouldn't you?

yeah yeah yeah....my intentions are always good but actually doing it is another thing. You would think I would have learned by now to avoid the last minute stress of getting them finished.

My Christmas gifts are not ripe yet. I make apricot jam from apricots of my apricot tree. I save and beg for jars during the year and recicle them. But the apricots will be ripe one week before Christmas so unless we have a very hot summer, I will have to hurry at the last minute. Sometimes I make relishes, but that, too depends on the weather. I only buy a present (toy) for SofĂa. She is 6 and is not interested in other gifts

Everyone here so far wants one, so hopefully they will all make use of them. Everywhere we go now people are carrying this type of bag.

Thank you. I wish I could stay home more and just sew....and not have to also worry about earning the pennies online too.
