i don't think trump will give jobs to Americans since he is a businessman,he can't give up cheap labor. therefore he can't end outsourcing. if he does, he will loose the opportunity of cheap labor and his own business will be at stake. so he can't give Americans their job.

@clrumfelt He's "created" low-paying jobs in his hotels and country clubs and he's fought unions when they've tried to organize so the workers could get fair wages and benefits. He's stiffed hundreds, probably more like thousands of workers and contractors who have done work for him. All of his branded products he sells are made in other countries. He's the biggest fraud and con-artist to ever breathe let alone run for office.

He has created thousands of jobs for people and will create thousands more now simply because he knows international business and how to keep other countries from taking advantage of the USA.

@anniepa it sounds like you're describing Coles or Woolworths supermarket monopolies in Australia! Trump's not the first in business to be forced down this path - they all do it to some extent... some on a local scale, some on a global scale. The difference is that Trump wants to change it all & regulate it, just like it was done so successfully before.

Really? All businessmen have that mentality? Why can't he give up cheap labour? Trump knows how to do it. Why? Because it has been done before, many times in America's past & in other countries like mine. It follows in line with all his other policies & he will succeed if he can push them all through at once (not in one go).
Actually, it was proven, in my country, using The American System, back in the Great Depression, in a scientific study of many trials. Take the cheapest labour you know... it was black slave labour in the USA at the time. Get them doing the same job, etc, etc at the same time & measure their output, health, etc over the same period. Consistently, high Aussie wage earners made more profit for more companies right across the board than slave did for their masters. The USA in its past had huge numbers of immigrant workers as well as at the same time, good, if not fantastic employment numbers for skilled, educated, resourceful, talented citizens. At that time, they ran studies comparing American & English workers (in England), who were on very, very poor wages over there for a very long time. And you can guess which lot fared better.
Outsourcing, globalization, "free trade", etc, etc hasn't worked & has essentially killed off everything in the West. Let's try the other way now over the same time period & do it properly & thoroughly well.

Donald does his best not to pay ANYTHING to those who do work for him and he's been fighting the union that's trying to get in at his hotel in Las Vegas. He's a typical union-busting Republican who actually said in one of the debates that "Wages are too high!"

@clrumfelt I can't figure out how any union member could have voted for him. I know the leaderships of the major unions sure weren't for him other than the police unions which always go for Republicans.

@anniepa Union workers were one of the largest demographics that voted for Trump.

I think our economy will be destroyed in record time if he takes office. He's not to be trusted, his loyal minions have been played and lied to big time. I'm just wondering how long it will take for some of them to realize they've been taken for a ride.

@clrumfelt Hillary Clinton was the MOST qualified candidate to ever run for President and Trump was the least. He's proving it now, he's totally out of his league and in WAAYYY over his ugly orange head.

@anniepa He's doing a great job and hasn't even been sworn in yet! Don't know how anyone could say he's in way over his head.

I think he was elected precisely because he is not the normal DC poitician, and that's what the USA needs right now to get us out of the mess we're in. There were no other qualified candidates running IMO.

We will have to wait and see after he is officially sworn in as president in January, but I think he has the ability to do a great deal for our country. He has already saved hundreds of Carrier jobs from leaving the USA to Mexico and arranged a deal with a Japanese businessman which will create thousands of jobs here.

@clrumfelt He lied about those Carrier jobs, most of those who were going to go to Mexico are STILL going and those that are staying will soon be automated so those workers will also be out of work. The taxpayers of Indiana are paying $7 million for jobs that are leaving anyway.

I know he didn't save as many jobs as they claimed, but from what I hear the automation of jobs is going to cost a lot more than paying someone to do it so maybe companies will wise up and not go that route.

Well, he is trying hard to hold companies getting out from the U.S.A. by lowering business tax from 35% down to 15%. IBM will be needing 25,000 new workers for the next 4 years. By lowering taxes for businesses - - new (small, medium, and large) companies will pop up . . . hence, new jobs for Americans.

The problem with that theory is the majority of the large corporations actually pay little or nothing in corporate taxes once they take their many deductions. GE is one that pays zero. Even those who actually DO pay the full 35% the savings they'd see in a cut like that wouldn't come close to what they save by having their work done or their good made by foreign workers for pennies on the dollar.

@anniepa I think even Trump businesses did not pay taxes (legally) for 10 years. . . Anyway, let us just wait and see. Maybe Donald would do some magic - - to make America great.

@antonbunot I'm not sure about his businesses, but he didn't pay personal income taxes for at least 18 years. We'll never know for sure just what it is that's in his tax returns that he doesn't want us to see but it can't be good

I wanted to Tweet your discussion but your title length is too long for Twitter to accept it. I did manage to get it shared on my timeline on my Facebook page so that is something.
