A PhD Completed at Last

One of our two sons lives in Ireland. He married an Irish girl and has now lived there for well over ten years. He is a jazz musician and has been fortunate to have travelled quite a bit with various bands. A few years ago he received a grant to do a PhD in jazz studies and a few weeks ago we received news that he has passed. It has been a long, hard slog as I'm sure it is for anyone attempting a PhD. The photo shows him trying out Vince's tuba, also known as a double bass. Damian now plays his own double bass but it is a string one, rather than brass. Needles to say, we are proud of his efforts.

@JudyEv I listened to that one. He is a great bassist, my favorite instrument really. That long bass intro was very cool.

@JamesHxstatic I'm glad you enjoyed it. Don't tell him but we really prefer dixieland jazz rather than the modern stuff.
