JJ's post about posting 20 times and a comment reminded me of something that happened to me

JJ rightly mentioned the kind of person who posts 20 MyLot posts in a row and someone else said it was like someone who talks too much. I had this girl who used to ring me and talk and talk and talk. One day she kept on and on so I got ready for bed while she was yapping. Then I got into bed with the phone and tried to listen. You could not get a word in edgeways. I eventually fell asleep. Hours later I woke up and the girl had not even noticed or apparently wondered why I did not reply as she had not had a break in talking ...to herself! Moral of the story is if there is no interaction it sends people to sleep.

That's crazy that she didn't even notice she was talking to herself! Lol

I'll be quiet now. I have work to do anyway. Company will arrive in four short hours.

I had a work colleague who would telephone me in the evenings and talk for several hours.

Great story I believe it happened just the way you told it. I had a sales person call me and I put the phone down and walked away but then forgot about it. Had a quiet moment and heard some sound in the background. As for many posts in row it does make sense and doesn't have much purpose to post without interaction. I'm not always sure however the delivery of these tips for if I read sarcasm it can almost sound like a put down and then I think it is really not anyone's concern how another person posts? The idea does make sense however because its true why bother if no one listens or cares about what you write.

That's actually quite sad. The poor person. I remember reading a "Dear Abbey" letter years ago about a woman who was bothered by a person who called to yak. One of the dodges the letter writer used was to set the phone down (pre-cellphone days) and go ring the doorbell, then say, "I'm sorry I have to go. We have guests." But twenty posts in a row. Must think they get paid for posting.

I encountered this kind of scenario also. The problem with some people who loves to talk is that, most of the time, they refuse to listen. They can't really blame us if we end up sleeping while listening to their rant, opinions and the like.
