Hello to all mylotters. I hope that things have been well for you over the past few weeks. Well I am now back from my travels and have had a fantastic time. I have met some lovely people, seen many beautiful things and have had a great time. The highlight of my trip has been to see massive planes landing at the airport in St. Maarten which is a beautiful island divided between the French and the Dutch. We did a tour of the island and visted a couple of beautiful beaches. Finally ending up on Maho beach where planes are about 50 feet above your head just before they touch down on the islands International airport. The other great highlight for me was to visit St. Lucia and the Pitons. We walked around the active volcano where you could see mud pools bubbling away and pockets of gas escaping in puffs of steam. The air thick with the smell of sulphar almost like rotten boiled eggs. Interestingly the six days it took to cross the Atlantic were a bit odd as the clock went back an hour every day so we ended up with 25 hour days. Sadly my body clock did not adjust to these times so I was in the wide awake club every day at 2AM. So I ended up sitting on the top deck drinking coffee and reading whilst everyone else slept. It was a fantastic tour but I have come crashing back to reality and have finished a couple of days at work. Caught up with my ironing of 36 shirts four pairs of trousers and six pairs of shorts plus other bits and bobs that needed washing. So now i intend to relax for the rest of the evening as it is back on full work schedule next week. The photo is of the Pitons in St Lucia. Remnants of a volcanic reaction thousands of years ago.
