What's the most difficult day of your week? Today is mine.

Monday is my "hump day" because it's the hardest day of my week. I often (but not always) teach at my friend's preschool in the morning, take a kid client out in the afternoon, and teach my evening psychology class from 7 to 10 PM. When I get home, I celebrate by sipping wine and doing a progress note for that afternoon's kid client.
Today I get to work with the Pampers set at the preschool. I don't know them as well as I know the older kids, so it will be interesting. But it also should be fun. There will be songs to sing, owies to kiss, and disagreements to solve over who gets to play with that baby doll or stacky block. I'll probably also get some hugs, which is a good thing.
My most difficult afternoon kid client is Thursday, so I'm not totally "out of the woods" (do you use that idiom?) by tomorrow morning. But today is still the day I most look forward to "surviving." Do you have a "hump day" that's not Wednesday?

Today was a good day. I've made a point of playing with the Pampers crowd a bit when we're all outside (over the past three months) so they wouldn't be afraid of me if I was called to sub in their room. I let them "play" my mandolin, did some puzzles and play dough with them, and read some stories. Nobody was afraid of the deep voiced one.

You do a lot of things with kids don't you? I am retired and disabled. House bound. Not much goes on here. Occasionally I have an appointment or something which is hard for me due to social anxiety. But, as the cowardly lion does in the movie I muster my courage and just do it. My daughter has been going with me and that really helps.

@celticeagle Its probably better for those around you too. My (adult) students joke about how they sometimes have their "resting b-tch faces" on.

I get little patches of social anxiety, which is weird for a teacher. It's really large crowds that I can't relate to that bother me. I'd probably freak out at a NASCAR race. Glad your daughter is there to help you. Sometimes "just doing it" is the best thing. Channel the anxiety into conversation, and realize over time that most people are nice and aren't judging you. But it's easier to say than do.

When I was working, it used to be Thursday or Friday...Thursday is supposed to be a good day, so ample document registration work used to go on then. As to Friday, we used to have Saturday offs, or half days, so a lot to complete on Friday. Now from home, Saturday and Sunday are tough ..saturday tougher. Lots of work on that day.

@Jessicalynnt Agreed. I like being productive. But I try to enjoy the process as much as the product, as with my speakers.

The only day like that for me since I retired is a shift more than five hours long on a slow day at the bird seed store.

@JamesHxstatic Most of the hawks I see are of the Red Tailed variety. But I'll keep my eyes open for Cooper's Hawks. Guess I'm fattening up my doves for them.

@TheHorse Cooper's and Sharp Shinned Hawks love to feast on any bird smaller than they are. Here is a nice one that was on my bird feeders a few months back.

@TheHorse It won't hurt them at all, if they will eat it. There is a dove and quail blend available in five or twenty pound bags. That is at WBU, in your town.
At Wild Birds Unlimited, we are trained to show you how to turn your yard into a birdfeeding habitat that not only brings song, color and life to your home, but also benefits the wild birds and the environment in your area. Based on years of research and e

No, we get Thursday and Friday off. Yesterday was fun. I got lots of hugs from the littlies, and there were were few "owies" or other reasons for tears. I took this photo of one of my "older" kids last week, and uploaded it yesterday. I was actually photographing another child and accidentally caught her looking at me with her "resting sad face." So I edited the photo and made it about her. Is she a dear or what? Last night's class was good. I lectured on Dreams.

I always look forward to Thursday, it is the end of my week of running. Friday's are especially nice because I do not have to go out. So if I can make it through Thursday Friday is all down hill. Of course, I start running again on Saturday so it is short lived.

I know about being 'out of the woods' but I don't really have days that are better or worse than others. Sometimes we have to go somewhere where I'd rather not be but my mantra is always 'this time tomorrow/next week it will all be over'. It works for me.
