It looks like print on demand is the only option left for me to publish my first book of poems. Have you ever done it? If you have please share your experience.

I haven't published anything print on demand, but I have bought some books like that. The quality of those particular books was actually higher than those of mass market editions. The price was probably higher too.

Poetry is far to be easy to sell, but have you tried to send your manuscript to all publishers specialized in poetry in your country ? I have had several books published, some alone, some in collaboration with other authors, and I never had a problem to find a publisher, but they are books about archeology and history, not poetry...

I have always had a desire to publish a book. Now with everything going digital there is not much demand for print books I think.

Why is it the only option? Is it because it's the cheapest? Or because it's the only one readily available for you?

Money is a problem too. At the same time, publishers are in the city. I live in countryside far from the city.

@franxav Oh I see, that won't make it easy for you at all then. I know that amazon has it's own publishing thing, but I am not sure if that's something you have available for you either. There are many other options, but as you say it is pricey.

I published on Createspace a few years ago and can't remember it costing anything at all. I've never put very much effort into marketing it though.
