Cooking up a feast this year...

Well... I am definitely going to cook me a feast for Thanksgiving.
On the menu:
*Stuffed turkey with cornbread dressing
*Mashed potatoes with sour cream, cream cheese, and chives
*Gravy
*Candied yams with pineapple, brown sugar, and marshmallow cream
*Green bean casserole with crunchie french fried onions on top
*Whole cranberry sauce with orange zest
*Cheese biscuits
*Pumpkin pie
*Extra creamy whip cream
I have decided this year to surprise my nextdoor neighbor John with a Thanksgiving plate. He is really a nice guy, and looks out for my place when I am not at home.
Plus... There are a couple of other single/elderly neighbors who are not able to do Thanksgiving, so I want to give them a plate too.
I did this every Thanksgiving when I was in college, and loved doing it. I would put up signs around campus, inviting anyone who had nowhere to go for Thankgiving, to come to my place. One year...about 15-20 people showed up.
So I am excited about doing it again this year too.

You are a great person for doing that. Really. It takes someone special to do that for others. Sounds like a wonderful menu also. We are also making a feast this thanksgiving. As well as christmas eve and new years ever. Lots of people coming. You enjoy your holiday Thursday and all your friends as well.

@teresatrotter That is amazing, really. My girlfriends sister is like that. She loves to cook and always offers to cook for me. My girlfriend knows how but don't like to. Enjoy your holiday today.
