Where I'm At

Yesterday I wrote a post about how a friend helped me see why depression hit me like a ton of bricks and I didn't want to do anything and even getting out of bed was a challenge. Doing anything was a challenge.
I've been reading your comments on that post, and depression is threatening again, but this song hit me and I thought I would share it. It speaks right into the place I'm at.
I'm not as depressed as I have been, which is a good thing. I did have a good thing happen today. My daughter called me. I'll be going over to her home on Friday and hope that whatever problem cropped up will be whisked away.
Up to now I have been forcing myself to do what needs to be done. I'm actually looking forward to next week when I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving with my boys.
I know some of you suffer from clinical depression. I can't imagine being like this 24/7. My heart goes out to you. Right now I'm putting one foot in front of the other and doing what I need to.
I know where my strength comes from and without God in my life, I don't know where I would be right now.
I hope you enjoy the song Just Be Held by Casting Crowns.
Thanks for reading.
Just Be Held by Casting Crowns w/ Lyrics
Just Be Held. How wonderful to know that the Lord wants to remind us everyday to just be held. HE is in control... He really is!!! :) Very uplifting song. Ca...

When I was younger I did suffer from depression but it has been a long time since I have felt that way, it is not, however, something easily forgotten.. I hope you find your joy again.

@BelleStarr I was out a little while ago and it was cold, but not cold cold. No wind and other than the cloud cover we've had all day, I don't think we're going to get the flurries they talked about either. We'll see.

Sorry you are feeling this way but in time it will pass. I go through bouts of depression too. It just seems to hit out of nowhere but then brighter days do come. I will keep you in my prayers. I am sure the holidays and spending time with your family will help lift your spirits.

Your first paragraph sounds like how I feel most days. Very strong of you to put one foot in front of the other. Hope you have some good times with your family. That will help.

I've been dealing with my depression since 1999. There are days when my medication works wonders. But there are still days when nothing seems to help and, as you say, I'm unable to do much of anything. I fight hard against it when I'm able and ride it out when there's no fight left in me. Over all, I think I've done pretty well with the obstacle I've been given.

Music always helps. I think I'm out of the depression that hit me. At least I hope so.

I wish you a lessening of the blanket that is depression, and strength gifted to you from your Deity of choice, to beat it back!

And it usually does, but I don't think it's really ever lasted more than a couple days. Hopefully this is the end of it and I'll be back to my normal happy self soon.
