Day 78
Proverbs 13:11
Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathers by labor shall increase.
One thing that has taken hold of this country in the last twenty years or more is the lottery. Gambling also has a stranglehold on many people, so much so that people need to go into addiction programs to help them overcome their gambling addictions. When people win a little or a lot, it burns a hole in their pocket and they feel the need to wager even more or they go on big spending sprees until everything they got through their addiction is gone and they are in worse shape than they were before, because now the grip is so tight they will do whatever it takes to go out and gamble more of their money away. On the flipside of that is the person who holds onto their hard-earned money. They do not allow anything to deter them from their goals. When they do, they see their earnings increase little by little until they can get the things they always dreamed of, whether it’s a vacation, a new home, new car, or whatever they have saved so long for.
Gambling is a vice that is as old as time itself. Solomon saw the effects of gambling on his people and he saw how a person worked hard to achieve what he wanted in life.
As Christians, we are admonished to do everything to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (KJV)
You need to consider your actions and what it will do not only to yourself, but those around you, your family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. It’s nice to win, but it’s better to earn and hold onto your earnings so you build up the life you want for yourself.
Let’s pray: Father, help me be wise with my earnings and not gamble my life away. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

we can work for the devil and it is easy to start and we think it is for our profit but unlike yoking with Jesus Christ like a horse that pulls on winter sleigh rails across an icy path, not at all burdensome, but work with the devil, it only becomes harder and the reward, a curse

That's a great lesson for today and a big boost for us who rely only on hard earned money. Thank you for sharing. May God bless you.
