An Early Christmas Card

Thank you @just4him for this Christmas card you sent me through mail .
It arrived early , November 24.
It’s been years actually since I last received a real Christmas card . It was from my best friend now living in Canada . But after that , we just send an e-card through Facebook .
Though , a real Christmas card seems to give the recipient a feeling that it was sent with love because the sender took the time to buy a card and send it through mail .
Do you still receive a real Christmas card ?

More than 10 years, maybe 15 years that I haven't receive Christmas card. Well, I don't send any Christmas card also. But I think we should send this card once in a while, its part of our tradition, part of story of our Christmas.

@ilocosboy way back in the 1960s my parents had lots of friends. Every end of November mom had over a hundred Christmas cards to write and we received about as many too. As a child my parents made it interesting and we had strings of Christmas cards hanging in the living room.

I can't remember the last time I received a Christmas card even though I do send them every year. I'm not sure if I'm going to send any out this year. How nice of @just4him to send this lovely card to you. We have such great people here on myLot.

I usually receive blank Christmas cards from Priest of the Sacred Heart (as I received last week) about a month before Christmas so I can use them to send to friends or family. Lately, my wife also received blank Christmas cards from them and a personalized 2017 planner after I referred her name to them. They usually send different items to their benefactors including personalized stickers that you can use as return address for your mail or stick to your notebook, book or whatever to mark the item that you own.

Wow , how nice of those Priests of the Sacred Heart . At least , you are also forced to send them out to friends and the tradition of giving out real Christmas cards will not die .
That's the price indeed for being their benefactors . I admire you for that my friend .

I do still receive the occasional Christmas card and also send a few out myself. However, I always make the cards myself. It is surprising how effective they can be using a decent design, the correct software and especially designed card to print on. I find it preferable to buying cards because I an personalise them.
The posting date is always a problem when mailing overseas because it is impossible to judge the timing. Today I will be mailing a couple to the USA, which may true early or just in time.

@SIMPLYD We used to bear that inconvenience of going to the post office and then the long queue. I hate to do that again. E-card is more convenient and I prefer it although it is true that receiving real cards is more touching because you know there is much effort involved.

Yes we still do it because it's tradition although a dying practice- I have downsized the amount of people I send to but still do it myself. So that was so great you got a real card from one of the myLotters on here!

Wow, that's so patient of you . You see , sending real Christmas card is a labor of love .
Imagine , you have to search at the mall for the right Christmas card that conveys what you would like to be conveyed for each recipient , then going to the post office just to mail it ..

Very few people I know send cards any more and I think it is a shame. It was nice getting a bit of news and thinking of the person or family. I remember the days when you gave everyone you knew a card and vice versa. People do not do that now.

That is true . When the internet age emerged it put the sending of real Christmas card on the sides because of the e-card one can send through email or through the social media .
The personal touch is gone . Although having a sincere dedication can also convey a nice greeting .
