The Card I got

All the time I try and keep my baby Coco off my mind cause I am fighting depression. But now and then I find I can't avoid it. She was my constant companion for 14 yrs. Everything I did, I considered how it would effect her.
Just got my mail and a card was sent from the animal hospital of sympathy from the staff. Its been a month. So I am crying which I hate to do. People want to help you and they can't. nothing to be done. I always think of that song even though it has not been long by Dorothy Moore and it must be the saddest song in the world.

If you get those emotions out it will get easier for you. I don't think you ever truly get over such a loss, you just learn how to better deal with it. That is a sad song. Cry out deary and feel better.

it does help to a degree, but with COPD it is pretty hard breath through it and makes me feel so truly without hope or purpose in this world

Pets are family members and mourned like any other family member. They live and are loved unconditionally

@bunnybon7 I remember it was last month. Thinking to this triggers the pain.

it was quite nice of them but did bring tears back to my eyes. she was my only companion especially at night. she slept above my head on her little pillow. a bad habit i did not realize i would so regret and miss.

@bunnybon7 I can relate as my two dogs sleep under the blanket with me, all snuggled up next to me.

That was nice of them to send you the card. Sorry for your loss. Some peoples pets are like their kids because they can't have kids so their pets take the place of a child.

@Tina30219 yes many do that. i had a friend many years ago that did not have kids, got fixed so she would not have them. didn't want them but has had many pets treated like children by her. lol

Right now my furry family member is behind me on my bed. I need to get her a treat to get her off of it.

i know. it has to be hard to work where you see suffering from little animals. i don't know how they do it.

i have lost others and it hurt and i cried a lot but she was my only companion now and saw me through so much for 14 yrs. so it is much harder , devastating with her. like a person to me. if not for my daughter i don't what i would do but she doesn't sleep with me at night like coco did.

@bunnybon7 I know what you mean. Rascal and Pip were more people than some people I know. They always slept in my room.
