The Day After The Day After Thanksgiving...

We have been so busy with errands, prepping for Thanksgiving and then cooking Thanksgiving dinner that I haven't been online in several days. I'm sure there are a lot of you that did the same thing due to the holiday. My brother and I had such a great two days. We prepped some foods on Wednesday and then cooked on Thursday. Both of us were in a great mood and the food all turned out beautifully. We ate somewhere between 2 and 3 and were so stuffed afterward. No matter how hard we try to downsize our Thanksgiving meal just for the two of us, we always end up with more food than we should have. While we were eating our meal, we watched the movie White Christmas. It has become a tradition with my brother and I to watch it every Thanksgiving. We don't have much planned today except to relax and watch some old movies that we have recorded. The movies have Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire starring in them and I always love to watch Fred Astaire. After eating leftovers again today, what food that is left will be put in the freezer for another time. Do you have anything special planned for today? How was your Thanksgiving?

Part of my good time is the time spent preparing foods with my daughters.

I'm glad that you were able to spend time with your daughters. I wish my kids and grandkids lived close enough so that I could see them everyday. They are about 8 hours away.

It is a great time with a lot of good food that we normally only have once a year.

the hubs's broken e'ery tradition we built years 'go. mostly he sulks 'n watches football. i threatened his life if'n he drank. surprisin'ly he stayed sober fer 't least that day. the youngest son'n family came'n late wednesday eve, i'm so grateful they did. i'd missed my lil fella somethin' awful. we all spent the day 't momma's. i'd gone wednesday to help with the cookin'. i wish the daughter'n family could'a come 's that'd made the day that more special.

We all deserve a day of relaxing after Thanksgiving! I actually lost weight from all the work I've been doing. I had a fabulous dinner party the day after, got to see my grandchildren for a few minutes, too, and drove our son to the train station today. Just finished cleaning and laundry.

How lucky for you to be able to lose weight during a holiday. I don't think that has ever happened to me before. Even when I have done a lot in the past. I'm glad that you had a fabulous Thanksgiving and were able to see your grandchildren.

I think White Christmas is on Netflix. I'll be watching it for sure this Christmas season. It's my favorite Christmas movie. My next favorite is It's a Wonderful Life.

@simone10 I haven't even seen White Christmas in Wal-Mart. However, I did see it is on Netflix, so I will be watching it again this year. I also have It's a Wonderful Life on DVD. I've pulled out all my Christmas movies and am ready to watch them.

@simone10 Neither am I. Lucky I have very few presents to buy and we'll be away for Christmas anyway.

@JudyEv I don't have that many presents either but I will have to do most of my shopping online so it is a little stressful worrying that everything will get here on time.

I'm glad that you had a nice Thanksgiving. I know how hard it is to cook for just 2 people, regardless there is always too much left over.

@simone10 I find it difficult to buy a small enough turkey for just the 2 of us, even when our son comes and we total 4, there are always lots of leftovers.

There really is a lot left over. My brother is the main cook in our home and he has a hard time scaling some things down for just two people.

As we do not celebrate Thanksgiving in Europe, I had a very normal week and no food leftovers. Until Christmas I am on the safe light food side.

We do not celebrate that here our next biggy will be Christmas of course and probably celebrate it in the same kind of way. Too much food and over indulgence. We always say next year we will not go so mad but it seems to be something that we keep doing just incase we get unexpected guests.

I know what you mean! We always say the same thing, that we won't fix as much food and that we will try and use self control. That always goes out the window!

Ours was in October here in Canada, it was a big art and craft weekend but two of my children came home to help me at the show and we all enjoyed dinner put on by the hubby. My third child went to Los Vegas for a vacation... Your sounds delightful and peaceful.

In my workplace there are twenty people prepping and cooking thanksgiving dinner then we ate our Thanksgiving meal . It is a tradition with people where I work. I feel very happy!

You are very fortunate to be in a workplace where everyone gets along. It's probably because it's small. Where I worked, there were almost a thousand people so it's kind of hard to have a close relationship.
