How do you experience or feel when your self respect is hindered?

I feel very sad when I am insulted infront of the public. Yesterday when I went to the market of my town, I was insulted infront of the public by a seller of general store. The thing happened was that I needed some A4 size paper without any styles or any lines on it ,I needed a blank paper. He gave me paper with lines on it.When I said to him that I need a blank paper he misunderstood me and insulted me by saying -"You don't teach me I know better than you." He didn't gave me paper because my father is not in his party and didn't give vote to him in the election of 'Head of the Town'. Such people really exists who do their work only when their work is done.
