That's a horrible idea, and I sincerely hope that Uber has some way to keep drivers from working such ridiculous hours. You're going to be endangering yourself, your passengers, and other motorists on the road. What good will making enough money to cover rent do if you're involved in an accident and Uber's insurance doesn't cover the costs of any of it because it comes out that you were completely at fault?

Im very alert while driving and if i dont work like that then im homeless again with 2 kids which i can not let happen. Because there is no rides where i live or any work where i live i have to travel to make anything and only can do it on my spouses days off he works full time but its not enough to cover our bills. I have to make sure i have food and diapers for my children. And because uber does not pay well and drivers come out of pocket to work u have to do alot of hours just to make a little. And i have my own insurance as well uber does not pay for any of my car expenses. Of course i have sense to grab a coffee or to take a small nap if i need.

@TiffanyP Hon, you're a lot more impaired than you realize you are when you're driving drowsy (or worse). Coffee and short naps really don't cut it. That's why commercial drivers are required to have a specific amount of time off the road on their routes. It's basic safety for the driver and everyone around them.
It sounds like you're substantially short at the end of the month. Is that the case? If so, you should probably sit back and take a look at your budget. It doesn't sound like it's a great idea for one partner to not work if it's taking that much to make up the difference when rent comes due. I'd suggest you take a look at the We're Debt Free board over on Babycenter; they're pretty awesome when it comes to evaluating budgets and helping cut fluff, and even lurking can be really beneficial.
I'm going to PM you a few specific suggestions, too. Maybe one of them will be something you can do closer to home rather than driving to LA to make less than you spend.
This is a Dave Ramsey-inspired group for those who choose not to be "normal!" Discuss your progress in working those baby steps, get advice, and learn new ways to save.
