Do you ever have nightmares or bad dreams? What is a nightmare? Do you ever have nightmares?
What is the difference netween a nighmare and a bad dream?
Why do you think they happen?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last night I dreamt that my 2nd ex-wife came back to the last place we were living to get some things. Later, some movers with no shirts on came to get some more stuff.
They had the key to get in. Also they already had moved some other stuff while I was sleeping.
But when they had taken a few things, one of them picked up a glass bottle and wanted to hit me with it. I begged him not to hurt me as there was no need. He kept insisting that it was part of the job and I kept telling him it was no necessary that I had no problem with them taking the stuff as I was ok with it. Then I woke up and was not able to get back to sleep.
Could it have been because I ate something about an hour before I went to bed as I was unusually hungry even though I had eaten more that usual? I usually wait about 3 hours but it was very late.

Do you have them often and is there something that you think is causing these bad dreams? Is German the first language you learned?

@msiduri Have you tried to figure out what might be causing the bad dream?

@1hopefulman Not often. When I was learning to speak, both German and English were spoken in my home.

Sometimes I will have nightmare. But I can't think out the reason to cause it. I just think it happens randomly. Since I always have a deeps sleep, so I often forget the dream itself. I can't remember exactly what happened in my dreams.

When the dream wakes me up, I remember it for a while. I think for me it is eating late. I did that last night and again a bad dream that woke me up.

A few years after I graduated college, I would sometimes still wake up in the middle of the night because my subconscious mind still tells me that I have exams and need to study, i need to get up if i don't want to fail
, this does not occur now and if it does or when it did, i was fast to convince myself that school has long been over., looks like i got over it already.

I did a test last night. I ate one hour before I went to bed and again I had a nightmare that woke me up and made it hard to fall asleep again. Now, I need greater willpower not to eat late again.

I´m glad to say I never have. Not even when I was taking Chantix to stop smoking and you were supposed to have nightmares to say the least.

From your knowledge how do bad dreams differ from nightmares? No, I am not concerned about her as I'm pretty sure she does not want to harm me in any way. I also think my meal and then eating again later may have been the problem.

@1hopefulman According to the researchers a bad dream most of the time does not cause awakening, while a nightmare always makes you wake up in terror. I hope it was only your meal.

I always have nightmares, some get really graphic and some are just bad I forgot about a paper due for school even though I graduated. haha! Bad dreams are normally caused by stressed or just some weird food someone ate before bed. Or it can be influenced by something we read or saw. I just use my bad dreams for my writing so they are not so bad anymore.

Yeah, looks like I'm always dreaming about some one after me. Now I'm paranoid. Maybe it's a warning of some kind. Poor Felix. Why would the man have to hit you with the bottle and how is that a part of the job? Talk about dreams!! A dream is just a dream, especially when they have ironic questions that don't make sense!

Yes, I sometimes have some strange dreams that make no sense and I have no idea why I'm having them or where they come from.

@db20747 I have not researched the subconscious mind much and have little understanding of it.

@1hopefulman I think ideas from the subconscious mind come together all at once.

I have had a few real bad or scary dreams in my day. One scary dream that comes to mind is one where I am a child in my parents front yard of their house. A tornado is coming and I am trying to run inside the house but I am running in slow motion and can't progress in my running. It woke me up and I was so glad it was just a dream, It was real clear.
