Does your workplace have a Christmas staff party?

Where I work there are only 7 employees so the boss takes us out to dinner for our Christmas Staff party. We choose a restaurant and then we go there after work. We haven't chosen a place yet for this year but it will be happening sometime in the next couple of weeks. Having such a small staff we are very close knit so we have a good time when we all go out together.
Do you have a staff party or do you attend any other Christmas parties?

Yes we do.
It's a bit of a big deal but as I've only been there 3 months and find the social side extremely stressful I won't be going.
As I'm in a hotel you won't be surprised that the party is in one of our function rooms.
I plan to work that night as we aren't closed and still have to cater to guests.

Yes, we do have parties at work too. The most recent party we celebrated was the World Teachers' Day. It was fantastic. We had a lot of games and we won. On the other hand, after that day, my body was in pain. Haha! We needed to use our physical body to win the game. We also ate a lot of foods. That was really unforgettable. The next party we will be having is Christmas Party.

@Happy2BeMe Thank you very much! We are going to have an exchange gifts. Aside from that, I am thinking of giving gifts to my teachers in our Department.

@Happy2BeMe They really are nice and when we all went out, we didn't have to worry about being back in an hour.

We don't have a Christmas party in the formal sense, but we do a Secret Santa gift exchange followed by a holiday luncheon. Oh, we also do an office door decorating contest.

That is a lot of fun too. We use to do the Secret Santa but we stopped that a few years back. I use to enjoy it!

@Happy2BeMe Secret Santa is a fun thing to do! And we have a few jokers that will secretly give gifts to people other than who they are secret Santa for, and it throws everybody off!

I'm retired, but received my yearly invitation in the mail. I go with my hubby, but can't make it this year. We always have dinner, an open bar, and dancing. My colleagues and principals love it when we make our appearance! Lol! We will be readying the house and ourselves for Florida.

That sounds like a good time. It is always nice to reconnect with people but Florida would be much better! :)

That sounds so wonderful! When I used to work at the local hospital they had a huge Christmas party. The hospital is the largest employer in the area. People wore ballgowns and prizes were given out. The food was buffet style and was delicious!

There are over 300 people at my workplace.
Our owner does a very fancy party for us, like many parties, it is held in January.
It is a semi-formal event, with everyone going home with a prize and they have take always-usually nice swag.
Last year they had nice embossed water glasses for everyone.

I used to work in a part-time job where the staff got a Christmas bonus, a Christmas gift, such as a small hamper, and a staff party. One year it was a night out at the greyhound races with a free bet and light meal as part of the deal. It was OK (although greyhound acing does get a bit repetitive unless you are really keen on it). Then the company was sold. The Christmas bonus and gift were immediately scrapped. The Christmas party was a cheap meal at a hotel in a room shared with other companies' parties. The meal was followed by a show from a rather unconvincing-looking Abba tribute act None of the many new bosses turned up to socialise with their staff. Fotunately I left before the next one.

@Happy2BeMe A lot of perks for British workers are disappearing.

@asfarasiknow Yes it seems that way in a lot of places. Employees are valued like they used to be.

In our company we always organize a Christmas parties for employees and our agents. It's also the time of the year where we give out awards to those who deserve it and of course bonuses and we do have exchange gifts.
At the same time I am also invited to different Christmas Parties by different companies we tied up with.

My school always celebrates Christmas as mostly the students are Christians. Well, the students are mostly foreigners. Before the Christmas, we the teacher decorate our school, and there will be a Chrismas party at school one day before the Chistmas.
Your boss is a good person for taking you and the other employees for eating out..
