Read the guidelines so you know what not to do here and don't make the mistake of thinking you'll earn a lot because you won't
But, as you say learning and making friends are important to you, you've come to the right place.
Apart from reading the rules my main advice would be get rid of the green man and put up some sort of profile picture.

@Theheroo you'll find many people will recognise you by your profile pic before the username.
Mylot, on every level, is all about building relationships with other members.
Whether you're here for the social aspect, the earnings or a mixture of both relationships are important here and one way to make yourself known is a profile pic.
Also, as a new member it's sometimes better to read and respond/comment to other peoples posts for a while.
That way you'll get to know how the site works and meet people, then when you post your own discussions people you've interacted with in the past will be more likely to visit your discussions.
PS...if you need any help with anything on here just ask as there are loads of people that will help you out.
