Favorite "Time of Day" Songs #6 - "Eleven O'clock"

I've done a series about songs with "Time" in the title, so it was only logical to continue with one with "Time of Day" in the title. We're at #6: "Eleven O'clock" by Morphine.
Led by bassist and vocalist Mark Sandman (saxophonist Dana Colley and either Billy Conway or Jerome Deupree on drums completed the lineup,) Morphine was a trio that formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1989. Through constant touring, the band's mixture of blues and jazz based rock had gained a rather large cult following, gaining momentum until Sandman collapsed and died onstage in Italy.
From their 1987 album Like Swimming (the record they were touring for when Sandman died,) "Eleven O'clock" was one of the band's more raucous tunes, a rocker about a guy who goes out at 11:00 on a nightly basis. Morphine didn't have hits (they just made great albums,) so there are no chart positions to speak of. It's just good rock music.
It was popular with fans as well: when I saw Morphine, it was the only song that night that the entire crowd sang along with.
Morphine regularly makes it into these series' of mine for a reason. They are one of my favorite bands, and they did a lot of songs that fit.
Like "Eleven O'clock."

I know what you mean, @crossbones27 . I'm stuck with "25 or 6 to 4" by Chicago, "Quarter to Three" by Gary "US" Bonds, and "5:15" by the Who.
I'm enjoying the series!!!

@FourWalls - Haven't heard the name Gary "US" Bonds in a long time. I think you'll really like the next one.

Believe it or not, there are a few more that didn't make the cut.

time related song titles - Bill Hayley's Rock Around The Clock covers every hour of the day, Wilson Picket - In The Midnight Hour and doubling as a very sad melancholy Xmas song Simon & Garfunkel's 7 o Clock News - Silent Night which uses real bad news news commentary over the hymn

A great and under-rated band. Nice choice
