Mylotting while listening to chilean music.

I showered late to be fresh for the dinner. It has been hot here, so I wanted to get dressed as late as possible. While I shower, I usually sing. Today I started to sing a song from the south of Chile. And one thing led to the other. Now I am listening to a wonderful group (Los Jaivas) singing a song that is part of one of the poems of one of our Nobel prizes: Pablo Neruda. Yesterday, my music was completly different. I watched on TV a beautiful version oh the Ode to Joy ( Beethoven´s 9th Symphony). I love music. How about you?

They have Wagner's Ring Cycle on our radio - the complete thing but in sections over four evenings. He's not my favourite but we listen to a lot of classical music.

There is some decent music among the Ring Cycle, but the majority is rather heavy for my liking. The story behind the music is better than the music.

I would expect everyone to claim to love music, although the choice of genres would vastly vary. As you probably remember my first love is opera, although I do enjoy many related forms of music as well.

I remember. But yesterday, while watching Daniel Barenboim directing Beethoven´s Ode to joy, I was transported.

@marguicha Beethoven is not really someone whose music I listen to much, although I cannot deny his ability as a composer.

@Asylum We all have our tastes in music. I listen to Beethoven or Mozart with the same happiness as I listen in other moments to latin folk music or rock from the 60s.

You can start by checking online a song written by Violeta Parra. It is even sang by american singers such as Joan Baez. The name is Gracias a la vida (thanks to life)

@marguicha That is the best part of living alone, no one to complain about my singing.

Pablo Neruda is one of my favorite poets. What is the name of the song?

The name of the song is Sube a nacer conmigo hermano which is taken from a part of Alturas de Machu Picchu. I don´t know the name in English of that poem as I read it in Spanish.
