Out Of Chicken?

Last night we went to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) to get chicken for dinner since neither of us wanted to cook. I love KFC, especially the crispy chicken. After waiting in the drive through forever, we get up to the speaker and my brother orders for us. The employee answered back that they were out of chicken. They wouldn't have more until 7:30pm or 8:00pm. Our mouths both dropped as we looked at each other in disbelief. This is a place that is known for it's chicken and the main thing they sell is chicken. How can they run out of chicken? I still can't believe it. So, we went home and settled for Chinese delivery. Wasn't as good as chicken but we were both too tired to keep driving around to find something to take home. I had gone to the Pain Management Clinic yesterday afternoon and was there for about an hour and a half total. I was surprised to get out so soon since I was a new patient. I expected to be there a lot longer. Everyone was very nice there, even the doctor and I was so relieved. I was scared that they were going to treat me like a drug seeker. I was examined and the doctor gave me a prescription for pain medicine that was a little stronger than what I was taking. He is trying to get me to where I am pain free. He did say that something as minor as my very small herniated disk in my lower back could be causing my neuropathy in my feet because it is pressing on the nerve. He is going to order an epidural and see if that helps. So, going back to the KFC issue, have any of you ever gone to get take out food and found out that they were out of their main item? *I didn't take the picture above. It came from Pixabay.

I think it is mismanagement. I mean, that is their main item...chicken. I just don't understand how this could happen.

I cannot believe it, it sounds like you go to a pizzeria and they say they are out of pizza dough, this is ridiculous. I am glad the doctor was helpful and I hope that the new medicines work.

It's crazy isn't it? It would be exactly like a pizzeria running out of dough.

I've never worked for a fast food place but I imagine a manager would have to give the final consent for purchases from their vendors @simone10 if so then it was the manager who didn't pay attention to the amount ordered.

@rebelann That is very true. It was a big mistake on his or her part.

Yes, it would be exactly like that! Someone messed up somewhere, somehow. I'm sure the manager, unless it was the manager's fault, will hear about it.

that's interestin' 'bout the disk 'n possibility 'f gettin' an epidural. don't reckon i've heard 'f such? some women actually 'xperience back pain fer months 'fter gettin' one durin' child birth (daughter-in-law said her back pain didn't leave fer nearly a year from such). i'm glad though that he tended to yer needs. 's fer the kfc place runnin' outta chicken? sounds 'kin to a cafe that'd no gravy some years back. such'd not been so shockin', but 'pparently none knew how to make gravy 'n they ran outta their canned gravy. which kinda makes me glad they'd none. a gal jest 'xpects better when'n the south, lol.

I haven't heard back from the doctor yet so I'm still waiting on info about epidural. I hope it doesn't make my back pain and feet worse. I know that the herniated disk isn't big or bad enough to have surgery on. It's just pressing on the nerve that goes to my feet. I remember about the cafe that ran out of gravy. I don't think I know of anyone in the south who doesn't know how to make homemade gravy. It's so easy.

@crazyhorseladycx I wish you could find out what is causing your neuropathy. It's really frustrating when you go to the doctor and they have no clue. If I had worked in that restaurant, I would have let you make the gravy

I don't go to KFC, but still never heard of such a thing! My friend had an epidural for pain management and is pain free, until the next time.

Well, we won't be going there again and it's the only store that is close to us. That's good news about your friend the epidural. I am hoping for the same results. I can't imagine life without any pain in my feet

@DianneN I really hope it does work for me. I told the doctor that there are days when my pain isn't that bad but I have pain every single day....it's just some days I can manage it better than others.

@simone10 You poor thing. I'm sure it will bring you much relief. That's too bad about KFC being the only store nearby. The closet restaurant to us is about 2 miles away.

I went for Pizza one time and they told me they were out of pizza dough. I thought why are you even opened because pizza was their main thing. All they had chicken wings and pasta. Another time I went to a fish and chip place and they had no fish. Glad to hear the doctor was helpful and gave you some more pain meds. Hope they help.

I had that happen to me at McDonalds, but it was chicken nuggets. That's poor management when a restaurant runs out of one of their main food staples!

Yes it is poor management when this happens! I doubt we will be going back to that one and it's sad because it's the only one close to us and I really love their chicken

No, I never had that happen. Sounds like they were very busy to run out of chicken, or they didn't plan well to keep it cooking so they wouldn't run out. I'm glad things went well at the pain management clinic.

I'm glad your trip to the pain management place went well. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they can relieve your pain? And that's hard to believe about KFC. We enjoy KFC from time to time too.

Lol...I supposed that is possible but I don't know why that would happen. It's not like the restaurant is close to a mall where Christmas shoppers would be. It's just crazy.

A chicken joint with no chicken. Why did they even bother to stay open rather than irritate customers.
