My handwritting has worsen due to technology!

I am noticing my handwriting has worsen due to technology. Yesterday, I had to jot down some information and boy was my handwriting looking ugly and inconsistent. The last time I used a pen was probably to write a check and that was it! I remember back in middle school and high school, I would handwrite assignments, notes, even write letters to my friends. For special assignments and essays they had to be typed though. Now a days, everything is on the computer or done electronically. Even when I went to work, I hardly reached for a pen as I worked at an electronic product company. How's your handwriting? I should keep a journal or planner to start writing again!

LOL blame the technology! But we should actually blame ourselves for being lazy, and not the technology. It's all a matter of choice. I keep a journal and I write every single day. I write a lot too.

Haha blaming technology is easier The younger generation has no choice - schools are being taught with iPad devices and what not now a days. Your journey entry is beautiful. I will have to start one too. I used to when I was back in high school, it was so fun! Now a days.... I have not reached for a pen/paper for a long time..

@infatuatedbby My son has a journal too and he's 12 and my goodness he has his own computer, an iPad and an iPhone. But he still choose to write in his journal. So i still think it's a matter of choice.

@toniganzon Haha yes, it's a matter of choice but I don't know what to write in the journal. I had one to keep up with my sales (that I sold) But I stopped and used excel since it' be easier to calculate lol and neater

As you getting older, handwriting tends to become poorer. These days children are not being taught anything more than writing their name.

@infatuatedbby Why learn to add when you let the calculator do it for you. People are becoming more and more dependent on technology and less possessed of general knowledge.

I have a journal for my every day thoughts and one for my prayers so my handwriting is really good actually. Everyone says my handwriting looks like a teacher's. =) Ironic since that's what I wanted to be...

Aren't you so right? If we do not keep our muscles in practice, we have great difficulty in forming the letters...and what we get is a perfectly scrawled chicken foot scratch...although that's nomal for some people, lol.

If I write something really nice I write lovely and neat but not so if I am in a rush and it gets to look like scribble so as Margi says you are not the only one but I love to write still so no worries. A Diary would be a good idea too.

@infatuatedbby Me I would much rather use another form of writing like Poems but related to me. Its only because I donĀ“t have a secret place to keep a Diary at least not at the moment.

I will start a journal. If its something short, I'll be nice but if it's a lot to write it gets sloppy. :)

I still do a lot of handwriting at work, but it's usually printed hand writing. About two weeks ago I tried to write in cursive, and found that I could barely remember how! Other than signing my name, I probably haven't written in cursive in 20 years!

@infatuatedbby I loved writing in cursive when I was in school, and in college we had to to a lot of writing in all my classes. I write very small, so it made it very hard to read my cursive writing, so at some point I switched to print writing, which was easier to read.

Just like you , it has deteriorated , when before it is beautiful . But since the laptop or computers , i only get to write when i write a small note on a post it to attach to a document i am correcting . And most of the times , i only get to write is my signature , that i affix on all documents that i have checked and audited . So , as to my signature , since it's always practiced , i can say it's beautiful . Sorry for bragging if you can call it that .
