Welcome to this weekend’s Suddendeath poetry challenge, Morning! Anyways, rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s' poems. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are: wake, sight, fresh, new, day
My entry is always, below:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
To wake each day with the sights I see
Gracing my eyes across the way,
What a wonderful time it is to be,
with the things for each night I pray.
As I walk through the dreams that are,
Each night soon becomes the new day,
I know that when I am led home by star,
my ground, my heart, will not have strayed.
Fresh is the air each morning somehow,
by sun by moon or by sky's light grey,
and fresh is the hope that I have now,
that deep in my heart does stay.

An Ode to Dr. James, "Kingdom Hospital"
His vision is narrow
Seeing only his plan
"Fresh Morning Air"
Blind to the sight
Of the true hospital
If only he could wake
From reality and see
The haunting beneath
Day and night alike
It would shake his soul
But even through the worst
Through the shaking
Of the very foundations
Nothing new can he see
But "Fresh Morning Air"

I put a response to these word on a post by @Hatley however I will attempt another time
Once the morning comes
I open my eyes and attempt to wake
the site during winter
is snow outside
if a sunny day
my cat Sid
sitting in the sunshine upon the windowsill
another fresh, new day to greet
another cup of coffee to drink
just sugar sweet

@Jessicalynnt yes, we just had our second snowfall and now once again the snow is melting but every night the temps fall and in the morning we have ice most everywhere

why thank you! It was also written to a person, but I was trying to be round about with how obvious that was

Too chilled to bite into the fresh powdered doughnut day
I let one cat out, not about to wake the other
my motions in need of a new charge
I sighted on geese below
cheering them on as they lit into water
frigid for me, perhaps a thrill for them.
