Willy Is A Stalker

A few minutes ago, I was downstairs in the kitchen, to prepare a cake. I saw Willy the cat in front of the window, so I opened the door to pet him and offer some treats. He did not seem interested, came to say hello and went back to his position. Back in the kitchen, I noticed that Willy,in front of the window, was staring at me. When I disappeared from his view he meowed briefly, always looking in my direction, like a "little stalker". I put the cake in the oven and back I went outdoors to check what he wanted. He finally came to rub up against my legs, purring and meowing, and finally decided to accept the food.. Pets can be funny. Have you pets that love to stare at you?

They can stalk, but among all my cats I have had only one who was really acting like a dog : happy to see me when I was coming back, following me everywhere, obeying... The one I have today is a bit wild. He meows to have his food, but he spends most of the nights outdoors and sleeps at home during the day.

@LadyDuck Cats are choosing their master, and not the opposite. A friend told me that his neighbor's cat moved in his home to gave birth to her kitten : the neighbor had killed the previous litter and Mrs Cat thought that moving was the way to go.

I am surprised that this cat acts a bit like a dog. He comes when I call him and he is not even MY cat.

@topffer Poor Mrs Cat, I can understand, they know more than we think. Willy comes inside all the time from the opened windows in summer, now he is a bit upset because he has to ask.

Willy is the cat or our neighbor, I also do not have pets. Willy comes in our garden (and often inside the house) every day.

@infatuatedbby Yes, I mentioned him before. I buy cat treats especially for him, but there are surely other "guests" that steal the food, like the hedgehog last evening.

@Bluedoll I had already put the food outside before starting to make a cake, Willy ignored the food. When I went back, after I have petted him for a few minutes he started to eat the food. He wanted attention.

When I saw the title I assumed that he was stalking poor snakes again. The youngest of the kittens who live in my garden always sits outside the French doors looking at me until I go out and pick up the dish. She follows me into the kitchen and sits there crying at me as though she was starving. As soon as she has eaten she has no time for me, at least until the next meal time.

The snakes are in hibernation now, do not worry. Willy does more or less the same, after he has finished eating he disappear, until he is hungry again.

Dogs stare when you eat, cats are different, if they stare at you there is something in their little brains. Willy wanted attention. He was alone outside and he wanted someone who took care of him.

Cats are funny. I have a neighbourhood cat that comes around. If the door is left open she walks in to take a look around to see what the house is like. But I have a bird so told her she can visit but not for long.
