Asking for a little brother/sister

I have a 4 year old son. He likes babies, he wanted us to borrow the baby of our neighbor. He keep on asking me to have a second baby, his little brother/sister. But we decided not to have a second baby right now, due to financial problem. We want first to have our own house. I'm pity for him, because I know that he really wants to have a little brother/sister. Having hard time explaining to him, why and when he's going to have a little brother/sister.

it sounds like he has a nurturing personality, which will be good when you do finally have a second baby. maybe he can have a pet for the meantime?

Yes, I can sense, that he will be a good and a caring older brother.

It will be a nice gap 4 years of having another child . Saving for a house can take many years . So , it' better to have another child now , then stop . Just my opinion though .
I regretted not having a child after 4 years . We only had one child , now a lady doctor turning 26 this month .

I our country they say that if a child starts looking forward to a sibling.... then the baby is on the way.... :)
But I am sure he will get what he wants and with time understand the importance of the wait as well....
God bless and keep you guys happy.... Keep smiling and sharing.... :)

@vickycheeky I always wished I had one, I was a pretty lonely kid. However, I currently have three kids, and they fight over everything, so maybe the drama isn't worth it.

@mommymonky oh, it's a quite depressing looking to your children fighting. How old are they? Maybe they are too young to understand things. Hopefully when they grow up, they won't fight anymore.

How does it feel, growing without a brother or sister?

A puppy would be less trouble and cheaper. But I'm just joking of course. Some little boys love babies.

Just let him understand in the simplest way possible. Sooner or later, he'll have what he wants. :)
