Hello again, while here in Bulgaria I went on a zebra safari. Yep you heard me right. Zebra.
I actually came home with my pockets full of them.
Not bad for being up a soon to be covered in snow mountain. Well I had fun anyway.
Obviously it's not the horsey four legged guy in the stripey pyjama's we are talking about. No it's a snail, zebra detrita I believe it is called but I am no expert.
You will see a good example in the bottom right of the picture. You will also see there are copse and banded snails too who's names I do not know and possibly never will lol
I'm no scientist, just an interested partner in the world.
You know the more I learn the less I seem to know. I'm sure someone famous said that at some time but it is so true.
It's also very stimulating.
You know I started with the wide subject of wildlife in general, as a kid I was always in wonder.
Then I became really interested in our flying feathered friends.
Followed then by, you know it, waiting for a better view of a bird with binoculars or the scope your eye gets caught by a butterfly, and a dragonfly comes and steals the scene with it's brilliant colours.
Of course they land on flowers....mmmmmm, what's that one called? oh and there's a wee bug, isn't that cute. Wonder what it is. hm, I need a macro lens lol
And so it goes.
Honestly I can lose a day in a minute, now what was it I was looking for to begin with? Oh look. There's a bird landed on that bush next to the..is that an oak tree???
Hahahaha, and people ask me do I not get bored out walking all the time. Honestly.
So what is your passion or poison? Tell me.

Those are very pretty snail shells. There is a guy on one of my husband's photo sites that does macros of various insects. Some of the colours are just astounding. It seems so wasted when it can't be seen unless a photo is blown up to glory.

Those are not sea shells but shells you picked up on a mountainside?

@GinerNut They must be fragile compared to hard sea snail shells.

@JohnRoberts by comparison John I would say yes. At home I live by the sea so I do have a huge collection of seashells lol.
Some of the snail shells I picked up are very fragile by nature and bleached by the sun I think.
